DISAPPOINTED WILDLIFE _TURTLE from Ernex on Vimeo.
Disappointed Wildlife is a project conceived, curated and designed by motion director and designer Andrea Braga. He created this set of 15 illustrations depicting some of the many animal species at risk of extinction.
Then he contacted 15 different animators and 3 sound designers were tasked to bring to life these portraits, with the idea of conveying the animals' disappointment and drawing attention to their endangerment.
You can experience this project through Augmented Reality using the Artivive app, which brings the artwork to life simply framing it with your smartphone.
Disappointed Wildlife is more than just an art project; it’s a call to action. Through art and technology, this initiative wants to inspire us all to care about the planet and its vulnerable animals.

PROJECT ARTICHOKE - End Credits from Ernex on Vimeo.
Project ARTICHOKE was a CIA project that researched hypnotism and mind-control. A memo dated 1952 stated, "Can we get control of an individual to the point where he will do our bidding against his will and even against fundamental laws of nature, such as self-preservation?"
I got contacted by the very talented director Azhur Saleem to be in charge of the end credits sequence. I had complete freedom to design and animate it, so I decided to play with an old school microfilm look, spreading the credits among several real declassified CIA documents from that period. The camera movements and the sound design helped to create an unsettling atmosphere.

STAR WARS: The Force Awakens _UI Screen Design from Ernex on Vimeo.
A long time ago, in a city far, far away, I had the incredible opportunity to be part of the screen design and animation of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
It was an amazing experience to have the chance to participate in a project of that magnitude, next to some of the best screen designers in the business, who went on to become friends.
My work focused mostly on the Resistance Base, the X-Wings and the Millenium Falcon, for which I designed and animated a handful of screens and dashboard animations. Just a grain of sand in the grand scheme of things, but definitely a massive W for my inner child, who’s still stoked to have been part of this project even a decade later.
This FUI Reel is a montage of some of the work the whole team at BLIND did for the movie, mixed with some of the most visually iconic moments from the film.

MPG _Logo Animation from Ernex on Vimeo.
MPG was working on the redesign of its identity and needed a new logo animation to go with it. Their main inspiration was “cool video game HUDs” and their visual references had influences from classic sci-fi UIs to Leonardo DaVinci’s blueprints.
I tried to play with a much-more-linear-than-usual style, using the main shapes in the logo and the negative space to drive the transitions between different stages: Loading, HUD Formation, Target Location, Acquisition and final Logo Formation
It was really fun working on this one, where I got to play with a lot of the common elements from user interfaces, but in a higher-paced and unconstrained way. Extra points if you can find the couple of easter eggs hidden in the mayhem.
