Strawberry Swirl
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of strawberry syrup
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
3. While the ice cream is churning, warm the strawberry syrup in a small saucepan over low heat until it becomes slightly runny.
4. Once the ice cream has reached the desired consistency, pour half of it into a lidded container.
5. Drizzle half of the strawberry syrup over the ice cream.
6. Pour the remaining ice cream into the container and drizzle the rest of the strawberry syrup on top.
7. Use a spoon or spatula to gently swirl the strawberry syrup into the ice cream, creating a marbled effect.
8. Place the lid on the container and freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours or until firm.
9. Scoop and serve the homemade strawberry swirl ice cream in bowls or cones.
10. Enjoy the refreshing and delicious treat!
Make some WAFFLES
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix. It's okay if there are a few lumps remaining. 5. Lightly coat the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray or brush it with melted butter.
6. Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle iron, using an appropriate amount for the size of your iron. Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually around 3-5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
7. Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and place them on a wire rack to cool slightly. This helps them stay crispy instead of becoming soggy.
8. Repeat the process with the remaining batter until all the waffles are cooked.
9. Serve the waffles warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or melted butter.
10. Enjoy your homemade waffles!
SPAM Musubi
Ingredients:
- 1 can of spam
- 2 cups of cooked sushi rice
- 2 sheets of nori (seaweed)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon mirin (sweet rice wine) or rice vinegar
- Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, and mirin (or rice vinegar) to create a marinade.
2. Cut the spam into 1/4 inch thick slices.
3. Place the spam slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, making sure each slice is coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
4. In a non-stick pan, heat a little oil or non-stick cooking spray over medium-high heat.
5. Fry the spam slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
6. Take a sheet of nori and place it on a clean surface or a musubi mold if you have one.
7. Wet your hands with a little water to prevent the rice from sticking. Take about 1/2 cup of sushi rice and press it firmly onto the nori, covering about half of the sheet.
8. Place a slice of fried spam on top of the rice.
9. Add another 1/2 cup of sushi rice on top of the spam, pressing it down firmly to create a compact and rectangular shape.
10. Fold the nori over the rice and spam, using a little water to seal the edges and keep it in place.
11. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make more spam musubi.
12. Once you have all the musubi assembled, you can wrap them individually in plastic wrap to keep them fresh.
13. Serve and enjoy your delicious spam musubi!
