EDIT: We... almost entirely forgot to mention!
Tenna and Spamton being sooo convinced they would get through no matter what happened together. Spamton felt assured enough in this by signing the deal. Something tells me the phonecall where his benefactor cuts him off is also where Spamton finds out Tenna is supposed to die in the prophecy.
They make me so violently ill it's sooo unfunny. Soooo violently fucking ill. There's a million things I could say but man. Just the fact both of them believed they could change fate, despite all the warnings, if they just stuck together, cared for eachother, helped eachother through ever what was to come at them... Yet it all came crashing down anyway, not even in spite of it, but Directly Because Of It.
Like both the solidification of Tenna knowing it was a bad idea and subsequently feeling being super guilty about it all, badly coping with that, and the genuine feelings of abandonment. That the only way to soothe that guilt is to pretend to himself that Spamton was the one who ripped him off as a little scam artist and his biggest hater. The guilt being so bad that it's easier for him to live the fantasy of mutual hate rather than confront trying to find him again and acknowledge he fucked up.
Meanwhile, one thing I never really see anyone point out is I just like how much this also validates Spamton's paranoia. Like, a lot more people are now able to see it from his perspective of not being nearly as irrational as he sounded after playing chapter 3. Even if Tenna is a genuine sweetie pie, albeit a deeply insecure and selfish one, there are legitimate reasonings behind Spamton's thinking, and we can clearly see that now too. Like just as much as people talk about Tenna's blatant bpd symptoms feels validating to see, Spamton's symptoms of psychosis and paranoia being presented in a way that you can understand how he got to this point with his thinking, without him looking insane or completely deluded for it, even if at the end of the day he truly is a lot safer and loved than he feels he is.
Also, Pluey is Tenna's favorite we were all correct forever.
Everyone has already equated 'Leave Me Alone' by iDKHOW as a Spamton/spamtenna song and I adore it (it's probably my favorite of theirs), but also I can't get it out of my head how much 'Mx. Sinister' by them feels like a spamcoffin AU Tenna song soooo much to me.
Everything new I find out Toby hidden in the game that could be inferred as Spamtenna makes them feel even more like these two (especially Tenna) would be a 'historians can only say they were best friends' situation. It's actually kind of fascinating how much of Tenna's character subtext plot could be analyzed for being queer but socially very closeted, especially considering how he's behind the times and would certainly still be restricting himself to things such as old broadcasting unwritten rules and the Hays Code. Hell, even the fact he is the TV of a very religious family may also be a factor.
From his literal hidden secret pipis in the closet, his constant vague references to his former business 'partner', the parental lock restrictions, him modifying the Mantle game to hide content, him immediately showing a 'salacious music video' in a fellow queer safe presence, to the sad side of black humor in mentions of his shock therapy, and his overwhelming constant fear of being thrown out and abandoned from his own home.
It's all just subtle enough to sound crazy, but I think that's the point. Something that when all pieced together feels like way more than just circumstantial evidence, but alone is just subtle enough to pass under the radar of being scandalous. There are so many angles from which you can analyze and interpret Tenna's character, and despite being very toony and over-the-top, there's also so many elements of him that feel grounded and real.
