Kong rested at Nancyās side, who was still sleeping, waiting for the sun to rise. If there was one thing Kong found comfort in, it was watching the sky change colors at the beginning and end of the day as the sun rose over the great wall surrounding the island, the sunlight and sky reflecting in the water.
āBeautiful.ā A word he learned from a human woman he met a long time ago, conveyed by lightly patting on his chest twice. He wondered what the human was doing now, where she was, and if she was happy. Who knows, as Nancy would say.
The time had finally come, and light started to enter the cave. Kong got up and went out to the cliff edge where he did his watching and had a seat. As the sun rose up over the wall, the clouds were dyed a light purplish blue color, with the sky turning golden around the sun. Kong grunted in contentment as he watched the colors of the sky.
Though, something surprising happened. For a moment, he could swear it seemed like part of the wall wasā¦rising? It looked like a hill was forming on top of the wall andā¦did the hill just grow a head? While Kong questioned whether he was seeing things correctly or not, the most grating sound he had ever heard in his life assaulted his ears. Kong grew increasingly agitated by the noise until he stormed back into the cave and rushed out.
After Kong had already barreled by the sound started rousing Nancy from her sleep as she pawed around for her [non-existent] beeping alarm, only to be slamming her palm onto a rock before smashing it in irritation from the noise. She grumbled as she begrudgingly lifted herself up, still somewhat half-asleep.
Nancy: Ughā¦what the fuck is that? Kong.
Nancy waited for a grunt in reply or the sound of his footsteps but only heard the deafening noise that was starting to give her a headache.
Nancy: Kong? Hey, Kong! Ughā¦
Standing up, Nancy looked around the cave only to find she was the only one there.
Nancy: K-Kongā¦? Uhh, guess he left already. Wouldnāt be too surprised, with whatever the hell that noise is. Probably drove him nutsā¦
Nancy picked up her bag, hunting knife, rock machete, and spear before heading out to look for Kong.
