Between 1692 and 1693, Sarah’s 11th great-grandfather, Andrew Peters, signed several letters in support of freeing all the so-called witches still imprisoned from the previous summer’s trials. He asserted that the trials were unjust, so those convicted should be released. That was a brave thing to do back then, and we could use a little bravery in these dark times.
