First meeting with the Inquisitor - Cut content
In the game, meetings with the Inquisitor before Act 3 takes place in a calm atmosphere in the Cobbled Swan. However, in one of the earlier versions, the first meeting was supposed to be interrupted because there was an assassination attempt on the Inquisitor. I guess that's why it used to be possible to choose a class for the Inquisitor. If the character was supposed to participate in combat, and this was reflected in a cutscene or gameplay. The game still has this option, it's just disabled. By default, DAtV thinks the Inquisitor is a warrior, though it doesn't affect anything.
It is unknown whether this scene was implemented in the game and then removed, because there is no voice acting or animation, only lines in the script that I sorted manually. Maybe it was one of the drafts.

- Harding and Rook arrive at the Cobbled Swan
Harding: Come on, it doesn't have to be bad news every time we come here. Rook: I just don't see Morrigan buying me drinks. Rook: Why can't I get her riddles in the comfort of home? Solas's home. No, screw it. My home.
- The Inquisitor appears
The Inquisitor: How are you, Lace? Harding: You can't be here! He's/She's supposed to be keeping a low profile! For political reasons! Rook: Who can't be here?
- Somewhere here there is an attack, a fight, after which the Inquisitor apparently goes behind the bar
The Inquisitor: Can I get you something? Harding: Applesauce. Rook: When does the Swan even open? The Inquisitor: Today? It opens when I say. Rook: If the Swan burns down, good luck explaining it to Neve.
The Inquisitor: I won't be here long. Rook: Long enough for an assassination attempt against you! Morrigan: Three attempts thus far. The Inquisitor: Raise just one army, and you draw assassins like flies the rest of your life.
Option: Assassins? Rook: Do I know these assassins, or did you bring your own? The Inquisitor: What do you think, Lace? Harding: The people who come after you don't risk themselves. Harding: Mercenaries? To keep you occupied? You're ruffling nobles again.
Option: Any more famous friends? Rook: Anyone else coming to visit? A teyrn you went to scout school with? Rook: These pawns aren't likely to risk their own lives for a mere political assassination. Rook: Next you'll tell me you're drinking buddies with the Divine. Harding: Well, there's this one person I know... Turns out he's an elven god. Rook: Point taken.
Option: Introductions? Rook: This a friend, I hope? I'm Rook. You are?
Option: Confused! Rook: Okay, feeling a little left out. Should I know you?
Option: I don't like surprises. Rook: Harding knows you? I need a name.
The Inquisitor: That's fair. I'm Harding's old boss. Partner, really. I did what you did, before you started doing it better. Morrigan: Eyes upon the hourglass, Inquisitor.
- It seems Morrigan is leaving
Option: The Inquisitor? Here? Rook: Shouldn't you be in Orlais doing whatever it is official servants of the Divine do? The Inquisitor: I'm currently stopping two kings and an empress from acting like Antaam and burning the north. The Inquisitor: Basically, I'm offstage trying to keep people out of your way. The Inquisitor: Kept all eyes on me.
Option: You here to take over? Rook: So, you're the Inquisitor. And you're here. And everyone listens to you, even Morrigan. Are you taking over? The Inquisitor: No, I'd attract too much attention. But that's also how I can help. The Inquisitor: All eyes on me. I'm the distraction because I can't do what you can do.
The Inquisitor: But you, Rook, will get the real work done.
The Inquisitor: Remember the last day of the Inquisition, Lace? Harding: Disbanded/Underground! To avoid attention? Your idea, remember? The Inquisitor: That is exactly why I stepped aside, and why I won't be staying.
The Inquisitor: The Inquisition was a long time ago. When the sky was breached, it became a symbol that rallied nations. The Inquisitor: But gods are very good at manipulating symbols. Harding: So we're out here with new people, and the Inquisitor... should not be here.
Option: Just tell me why you're here. Rook: If you're not here to take over, why are you here?
Option: So: Why here, why now? Rook: All right, you were in charge, and now you're not. But you're still here.
The Inquisitor: Varric found the best people for your job, not mine. It matters to me that you prove him right.
Rook: Should I ask why? I mean, I guess I just did. The Inquisitor: One, so you can ignore the bleating of leaders you've never heard of and get things done. The Inquisitor: And two, I'm another person who knew Solas.
- Solavellan Option: How close? Rook: "Knew" knew, or "knew" knew? The Inquisitor: Did you imagine those sounded different? Rook: Wasn't it? The Inquisitor: It really wasn't. Rook: It's in the lean.
Option: Do I have a choice? Rook: Not sure I get a vote about that. The Inquisitor: You're in charge. Do what's best for your team.
Option: I don't need more advice. Rook: I hope you've got something more than advice. The Inquisitor: Rook, this is your time. Your team.
Option: I could use any insights. Rook: Experience dealing with gods is something I could use. The Inquisitor: You have more than anyone at this point. And a good team of your own.
The Inquisitor: Enjoy this time, Rook. Building a team that becomes family. Don't let it get complicated.
Option: The world is complicated. Rook: I think the gods have shown just how complicated things really are. The Inquisitor: All the more reason to show them how simple friendships make all their fearsome armies a waste of time.
Option: Are we enough? Rook: We're facing gods. Is a bunch of misfits enough? The Inquisitor: You'd be surprised. And so will every tyrant who thinks an army of fear is stronger than the bonds of a few.
The Inquisitor: Your friends, your team—that's how you win.
The Inquisitor: You want to know how a small group of friends can face down tyrants and their armies built of fear? The Inquisitor: I built a team once. Filled it with the best. But one... wasn't what he seemed.
The Inquisitor: And... Solas. He is... in your head? Rook: I was kinda hoping Solas being "in here" wasn't getting around.
The Inquisitor: Are you certain that your mind is your own? Rook: Far as I know, he didn't try to control me. All he did was give ominous warnings.
The Inquisitor: I'm invested in preventing the harm of his actions. Maybe even to him. Rook: You're showing more care than he did.
The Inquisitor: Stopping him is a mission for many. Rook: Not at all comforting.
- Solavellan The Inquisitor: We have history. Rook: An immortal is nothing but history. The Inquisitor: No. We have... history. Rook: Oh. Ohhh.
Option: He's been helpful so far. Rook: For all that Solas has done, he's been true to his word. The Inquisitor: His help can be... complicated.
Option: Always good to have a plan B. Rook: I'm not saying I expect our relationship to go bad, but... it's good to have an out.
Option: Good, I don't trust him. Rook: I'll take any leverage. He's the god of lies. Lies. Harding: Like my ma always says, they don't call it the Frostback Mountains because it's warm there. Rook: Like I'd go against Harding's ma.
The Inquisitor: I know one place you can look.
- Shows a wolf statuette
Harding: A wolf? It seems... familiar? Like entering the Lighthouse. Rook: Where did you find it? The Inquisitor: We all leave our marks on the world, but when you're as powerful as Solas and... as affected by the past, those marks linger. The Inquisitor: It's not the first time I've stumbled onto something of his.
- Solavellan The Inquisitor: Also not the first time I've had to let it go.
Rook: I think it's a moment, a memory. Maybe it ties into the Lighthouse.
- Solavellan The Inquisitor: That's why it's better if you decide how to use this.
The Inquisitor: It's up to you what you do with it. After all, Solas isn't in my head. Rook: Wow. Thanks, Solas.
- Then there is another attack and Morrigan returns
The Inquisitor: Morrigan? Word from the borders? Morrigan: You gave a speech, and every noble in Thedas blinked. The Inquisitor: Nobility come pre-ruffled. Morrigan: Two banns hold near Denerim. The Orlesians are discussing a new Exalted March. Nations are poised, as nations are wont to be. Morrigan: None dare move, until you do. Rook: It's really hard to delay Orlesians. Did they make seasonal hats? The Inquisitor: They made hats.
Morrigan: That was the fifth attempt on your life since you arrived, Inquisitor. 'Tis time for you to leave this place. Rook: Fifth? What happened to number four? Morrigan: I encouraged them not to interrupt.
The Inquisitor: (Sighs.) Stay too long, I attract... everything. I don't fear for me, but...
- If the Inquisitor romanced someone Morrigan: Josephine happened. Even mercenaries quiver before grand imperial politics. Morrigan: Sera happened. Best not keep her waiting. Morrigan: Cullen happened. Best not keep him waiting. Morrigan: Thomas Rainier happened. Best not keep him waiting. Morrigan: Cassandra happened. Best not keep her waiting. Morrigan: The Iron Bull happened. Best not keep him waiting. Morrigan: Dorian happened. Best not keep him waiting.
Morrigan: Tis time to go, Inquisitor.
- Solavellan The Inquisitor: Tell Solas... Actually? Don't tell him anything. Not yet. Rook: Your "history" with Solas doesn't sound like history. The Inquisitor: It's complicated.
The Inquisitor: Whatever you choose to do with that memory, trust the people around you. Rook: It's a risk, being that open. The Inquisitor: It's a strength. The gods have legions of followers... The Inquisitor: They don't have friends.
The Inquisitor: Whatever it is, hold on to it. His help... often comes with conditions. The Inquisitor: I see how you've built a good team. And how you can keep him off-balance.
The Inquisitor: So says the Inquisitor, Herald of Andraste. Doves fly, legions bow, and whatever else the history books want.
