It's the clones turn to be catified!!! I chose the Burmese breed for a few reasons: its rich dark browns (show me the TAN Disney!!), the stocky and muscular body, the big and roundish face, they have colour variants that make them look blondish (coughRexOmegacough) or silver (coughCrosshaircough) and because it isn't your typical american/european breed (as an extra, it's a really popular breed in New Zealand and Temuera Morrison, the actor that plays Jango and the clones in the movies is from there!).

I also used the dark stripes these cats show on their heads to personalize each clone if the character has any iconic tatto or painted helmet (or scar). Aaannddd talking about scars... those nipped ears are there for a reason! Veteran cat clones tend to have more (unless you'r Hardcase being Hardcase)

I want to talk about Fives’ and Anakin’s relationship a bit because I feel like people don’t do it often enough and there’s quite a bit of evidence that they were pretty close. Maybe not as close as Anakin and Rex but still pretty close.

There’s the fact that Anakin told Fives about the time he blew up the ship as a 9 year old. And neither Jesse nor Hardcase knew about it so it seems to be something that Anakin told Fives specifically (or maybe him and Echo), so that means they definitely had some conversations alone outside the battle field.

Then there’s this very small scene in the Unknown. Anakin puts his hand on Fives’ shoulder. It’s a very short moment but it does make me weirdly emotional

And then there’s the “Jedi-issue scopes” joke. Now I’ve never been in any military setting but from what I’ve heard making a joke about your General’s dick is probably a bad idea unless you really want to do pushups or something. Sure Anakin wasn’t exactly excited but he also seems weirdly amused at the same time. Idk I’m having a hard time reading his expression there. But to me this shows that Fives is comfortable enough around Anakin and knows that he won’t get in trouble for making a stupid joke. I feel like the same would have been the case with any other trooper so it might just be a reflection of how Anakin treats his troops in general. We also see him joke around a bit with Echo in S7 for example. It honestly just looks like some banter between friends (even if it’s a bit one sided)

When Fives talks about the chips the the taxi driver he says the the chips make the clones “kill their best friends, their leaders” and since we know what order 66 is we know he’s talking about the Jedi. Anakin is his Jedi general so he views Anakin as his friend.

Now to the depressing part of the post. He genuinely seems to want to help Fives in orders. He offers to try to find him because he believes that Fives will trust him (wich he would have if it wasn’t for the drugs). And in the warehouse he makes it very clear that he just wants to help Fives. Wich probably would have worked if Fives wasn’t drugged (Honestly fuck Nala Se). And take a look at Anakin’s body language when they discuss what happened at the end of orders. He’s clearly mourning. Because even though he got mad at Fives he still cared. He is more in the background during Fives’ death but I believe that’s because he wants to give Rex and Fives time and doesn’t want to interrupt them because he understands how close they are. But when we do see his face he does look pretty sad. And I actually respect him a lot for that because the one person Fives needed in this moment was Rex, his brother. And Anakin understood that and respected that, wich imo shows how well he understands the clones and that he cares about them. And since Fives was an ARC trooper I can imagine that they just had more opportunities to spend time with Anakin so naturally they got a bit closer than other clones in the 501st might have (similar to Rex)

Honestly I believe Anakin is the reason why Fives thinks so highly of the Jedi. Because Anakin genuinely cares about the clones and treats them well wich unfortunately not all Jedi do

Ok I got a fic idea for the Star Wars Rebels fans and the Clone Wars fans even rexwalker shipers too.

If it hasn’t already been done there needs to be a fic.

SWR Rex out on a mission with Ezra and Kanan and they encounter Darth Vader.

They are all struggling to escape Vader and at some point the cave or roof or whatever their standing in start to collapse and it’s going to crush Rex.

Ezra screams out Rex’s name to warn him of the falling rubble and at the last second Vader uses the force to save Rex from being crushed.

Ezra and Kanan used that moment whilst Vader is distracted to get Rex and make their escape.

Later when Ezra asks what happened Rex doesn’t know but Kanan says that when Ezra called out Rex’s name he felt a brief shift in the force from Vader.
