i’ve noticed a tendency in a lot of fandoms to take evenly matched fights, things that are genuine close calls, and start thinking of it as a one sided beatdown. and i understand that they do it to hype up a preferred character or bc, in hindsight, it feels like one character was destined to win from the beginning (and obv sometimes thats true when the plot demands it). but sometimes everyone in a fight is good and the same two people can go toe to toe and have a different winner each time. stories do this to add stakes, to make the win feel more like an accomplishment. it’s more fun to have that variety. sometimes you’re 18 vs vegeta, sometimes you’re goku vs piccolo. i don’t think this is a hot take or anything and i obviously don’t mind people having fun talking about fictional combat, but idk, i find it kind of boring
