Warner Bros. is developing a reimaging of the '90s family adventure "Free Willy," produced by Anthony and Joe Russo's AGBO.
Because another film portraying a captive whale being released into the wild as if that’s something that can feasibly happen in real life is just what we need right now.
The only cool thing about the first Free Willy movie is Jesse's foster dad's K-3500 "Big Dooley" tow truck. Man love me a good Squarebody GM pickup truck, or any 80's American pickup truck (way before the child killing American bro dozers of today) for that matter.

Anyway isn't the premise of Free Willy highly anachronistic anyway? A smaller theme park only having one Killer whale is pretty dated now as that was more of a thing back in the 60's through to the 1980's. Of course most smaller parks wouldn't dream to do such a thing now with how much it costs to care for an orca (welfare issues aside), as I'd imagine they would have found out pretty quickly back in the day.
Unless this reboot will be set in the past, say the 70's or 80's, instead of the 90's like with the original Free Willy.
