After suffering the aftermath of an artillery blast, Algernon returned home from WW2 with permanent hearing loss. All that remained of his second sense was a constant ringing - and no matter how hard he tried, it never stopped. It was during these years that Algernon’s already varmint-like personality developed further into something extremely temperamental and spiteful. He would snap at others in lulls of unbound fury for not understanding him, yelling in an attempt to be heard, or the worst of it, giving him pity. It made him feel weak. 

The opportunity to work security at MurKoff gave him a second chance. They would make an example out of him. MurKoff saved his life. MurKoff can save yours too.

He remerged with an MK-augmentation; his headgear, though clunky in shape, fully restored what was taken from him during the vices of war. The regained ability to hear made him unwaveringly reactive and sensory-driven; Algernon would react with sudden aggression to small, quiet disturbances like footsteps or breathing patterns.
