good evening, folks!! since i'm too lazy to write stuff down, i've decided to blog about stuff instead :D
occassionally jumping into other universes to see what they have to offer
after some experimentation, i've concluded that Nova can get hurt, and can heal herself - but once she dies, she's dead. though it's incredibly hard to sneak up on her due to her increased spatial awareness
how did i figure this out? welj thvatvdekjerbvkkjnhhweiughweiuehfcs
hold on, i'm Thinking (oh no)
it's like the Corruption is after me or something. i saw three different types of bugs in my room within the span of a day - one of which i've never even seen before
the Slaughter and the Hunt Domains (the reason there are two instead of one is because, well - haha, imagine killing an Avatar on accident (couldn't be me)).
the Slaughter Domain was a mansion, with about three to four floors. we never found out the Avatar's name, but she told us to, "Make yourselves at home! You can look around the house while I finish dinner!"
(which, considering this is a Slaughter Domain, most likely meant we were going to gore each other with the cutlery).
as for the "look around the house" part, even with it's considerable number of floors, i couldn't find any balconies, exits, or even windows.
(at some point during the early evening, music started playing throughout the house. there was no source, nor did the volume change as I moved from place to place).
one thing you should know is that i found a shelf filled with decorative items, which wasn't really much as the whole place was extravagant. however, one item was a miniature glass bottle with one of those lids you screw on, meaning it was very fun to fidget with.
another thing you should know is that you should never give me any glass items Ever (in my defense, it was very pretty (stained glass art is amazing) and very shiny).
i dropped it, looked at the broken glass, promptly decided this was not my problem and left the area (it was such a pretty thing too!! unfortunately, life exists).
i somehow made my way to the dining room where we were all supposed to gather (how did i do that? i couldn't even remember which floor i was on. that place was more of a maze than a mansion. this sounds like the Spiral (which we will be seeing more of in a bit), but it is not. i am just terrible at directions).
and inside was not the Slaughter Avatar, nor was there the bland, solid furniture that probably would've been covered in red soon enough.
instead, by the time everyone reached the dining room, the whole domain changed, and it wasn't even a dining room anymore. there were couches and beanbags in place of the hard, wooden chairs.
the whole placed changed to give a more home-y feel. and then we were no longer inside a mansion with no semblance of the outside. we were on the ground floor of a two-story building in the middle of a town.
then we got a monologue on how the Hunt Avatar in front of us became an Avatar after the eyepocalypse started, so she somehow ended up without a Domain of her own.
she tried to take over this Domain, but the Slaughter Avatar trapped her. now that she was out, and the Slaughter Avatar was trapped, she would thoroughly enjoy hunting each of us down, one by one.
(her name was Alecia. but we weren't allowed to call her that. in fact, we werent allowed to call her anything. okay, Alecia.)
(we were even kindly informed that it would be one of us each day, and then we were left to stew in worry about who it would be.)
(well, some people were worried. some had so much self-confidence they believed they just wouldn't die. i didn't think about it too much. if could make through those many Domains, then i could make it through this one.)
there were seven of us, so it would take a week to get through all of us. the first one was [M].
ignoring how i know about their experience, here's what happened :
first thing in the morning, Alecia approached [M] silently. they didn't even notice her till she offered them some tea (the offer did not extend to us. wonderful hospitality, isn't it?)
[M] stayed on high alert after that, turning to look if anything made the slightest sound, or if something appeared to move in the corner of their eye.
then Alecia actually began the game.
[M] was avoiding the Alecia like their life depended on it (and wouldn't you know it, it did). but no matter where they went in the house, as soon as they turned the corner, there was Alecia, approaching from the opposite direction.
so they decided to leave the house. and much like how the Slaughter meddled with us in the Stranger Domain, the Spiral came to play in here.
they travelled through streets and rooftops and alleyways, but they all looped back to that damn. house.
they found a bus that left the town and immediately got on, not noticing how nobody else was present or how there were no tickets being asked for.
only to be extremely captivated by the branching patterns of the trees outside the town, and the shapes the pebbles on the ground made. they forgot to get off till the bus came back to the town.
when they came back, waiting there to greet them was none other than Alecia herself.
as soon as they got off, they set off in a sprint through the same streets they ran through in the morning. they were only slightly ahead of the Avatar, and kept that lead by disappearing through a series of quick turns .
(except, we know that Alecia only let them do so. it was all for the thrill of the chase).
and finally, her prey hit a dead end. against their back was a solid wall (that didn't have the courtesy to provide a means of escape magically). Alexia approached. closer. closer. closer. and then turned around and set off in a dead sprint towards the house.
what.
(they weren't going to question it. their life was spared and they would worry about why later.)
so, why did Alecia run?
well, while Alecia was chasing after [M], the other six were left with nothing to do. and the six included me. who was incredibly bored because there wasn't even an objective this time. i just had to figure how to exit the Domain on my own.
so i decided to explore the house (you know, the thing that killed an Avatar last time).
there was a room in the house, the door had "Chestnut's room" written on it in tiny print. inside was one, singular (1) doll named Chestnut. it was sitting in the bed of a very well-furnished bedroom. the furnishings in question looked personal, almost as if it was made for someone living in the room.
the doll was soft and had that slight squishiness that all cloth dolls do. so, as any logical person would do, i took the doll on an impromptu tour of the house along with me (taking something along with me ended Very Well last time. certainly didn't lead to an Avatar dying. definitely.)
while i was looking around some room with Chestnut, occassionally squeezing it, Alecia kicked open the door (the door wasn't even closed!! it was open by nearly a third.)
naturally, my grip on the doll grew tighter because i wasn't expecting the door to slam open. this did not please her at all. she asked me what i was doing to her brother.
the who now? oh, Chestnut. well, that explained the room.
so far, as much as i was jumpscared very easily, i was never afraid. this means that i didn't feed the Hunt at all since i got here. and the final nail in the coffin was that i was hurting her brother?
first, hurting??? (i was not). second, her brother??? (that would make for an interesting story, but Alecia didn't seem like she was in the mood to tell me.)
she attempted to kill me right then and there, but my grip on Chestnut just grew tighter (it's a reflex!! and the grip wasn't even that hard!!), and so she just threw me out of the Domain.
she just. threw me out of the Domain.
plus points for getting two Avatars in (technically) the same Domain. cut points for letting me get bored (the only interesting part was getting to Know [M]'s experience.)
new method of getting out of Domains unlocked : use hostages !!
the most detailed one so far has to be the Stranger Domain one :
the Avatar was someone/something called the King, which was a statue. the thing about the King was that it was located smack dab in the center of a very public location (a park?). however, the park was huge and uneven enough that nobody could see if you were to mess with the statue.
everyone who lives inside this Domain worships the King. however, none of them know that the King is the statue (they assume it's just a statue built by some follower of the King) and the security around the statue is practically nil.
only a group of people (including me) know that the statue is the King.
and the way to get out of/destroy this Domain is to lay the King to rest. which means breaking the statue to pieces so we can carry it, dipping the pieces in some sort of fluid, and then laying the pieces in an underground pool where the King will rest.
which seems easy enough considering there's practically no security, nobody can see us/hear us destroying the statue, and there are whole ponds filled with that fluid, so it's easy enough!! (famous last words)
but,,, there's a catch,,, (of course there is. when has anything ever come easy)
there's no security around the King, yes. in the daytime. as soon it hits twilight, for some godforsaken reason, guards start patrolling the place. and there's no way to hide other than to go back to the tiny, cramped, two rooms we have to share between nearly ten people.
and as if that wasn't enough,
the fluid is easy to aquire, but none of the other people in the group realise the seriousness of the situation (we're stuck in a Domain!! and there's no food here except those weird looking mushrooms!! and barely any water!!) so one part of the group (around 5-6 people) is goofing off while the other part (2-3 people) is breaking the statue to pieces.
then comes staying for the first night in that motel.
unfortunately, this isn't a motel review. but here's what the people did instead (there's nobody else in the motel except us. us and those pesky guards roaming around the first floor. and only the first floor, for some reason) :
none of us slept, obviously.
we were on the second floor. the guards were on the first floor. and someone needed to leave the building, so they took the short way down. we were on the second floor. (we did not see them again)
there was one floor above us (the roof), and some other person somehow found tools for arson inside the shitty motel. so they headed up to the roof with two other people to start a fire. why
as if dealing with the Stranger (statue-flavoured!!) wasn't enough, we also had to deal with the Slaughter. because it was announced (by some magical disembodied voice in the sky) that exactly at 2:58 am, [S] would peel our skin off... with screwdrivers?
with screwdrivers?????? what????
and while previously there were practically no screwdrivers, now they were everywhere. and since nobody believed the disembodied voice in the sky, i was responsible for holding on to all the screwdrivers.
however, no matter how many screwdrivers i was collecting (i had two hands full of screwdrivers, and kept finding more), [S] kept managing to stumble across more.
so in the end, i just threw [S] into the fire on the roof. sigh. (throwing her into the fire was not my idea. it was apparently a collective decision by everyone except me. yet i had to be the one to throw [S] into the fire.)
(to be fair, it managed to hit 2:58 am before i threw [S] into the fire. and we found a screwdriver on our way up the stairs!! guess what happened next.)
after the whole screwdriver shenanigan, it was just the regular chaos until dawn. and then the guards were gone. (nobody checked the first floor. just saw that there were no more guards and ran to the ground floor. )
by now, most of the statue was broken and dipped into the fluid. so the second day, we moved it all the way over to a building that looked like an old, abandoned school.
the walls were completely white. like. under-construction building that just got covered in white paint kind of white. but the gates were painted, the floor was tiled, and there were some functional water fountains, so it wasn't an abandoned, under-construction building.
one level below was the pool. except there was no tiling. it was like someone dug a cuboid out of the ground and did the same thing they did with the walls, just a shade of pale blue. and filled it with chlorinated water.
the water was surprisingly clean for a pool that looked abandoned for years on end. and considering this was a Stranger Domain where people were not-quite people, it wasn't like they would've been using it.
after laying most of the King to rest in its final resting place (a swimming pool is an odd choice of place, but who are we to judge), all there was left of the statue was half of its neck, the head, and the crown.
we made quick work of it considering that there was only a little bit left!! (meaning, it was early evening (around 3:00 pm, and we started at 5:00 am) by the time we finished).
now, here's where another event happened.
we laid the King to rest. once the last piece of the King was in, two more statues rose out of the ground of the pool (both with their eyes closed, as statues who are dead should be). the disembodied voice described them as the King's Ministers.
very tired, and just glad to be done with this, i didn't stay to find out what the Ministers would do. just left the place as quickly as i could and went towards the place where the King's statue previously was.
(the disembodied voice told us that this was the place where we would leave. and so we agreed to meet here once we complete the disembodied voice's orignal quest of laying the King to rest)
after i was well out of the building (and i wasn't even walking that fast), someone came running behind me, telling me to, "wait up!!"
i did. half because they were my friend. and mostly because i wanted to know what happened with the Ministers.
turns out the Ministers opened their eyes and started chasing everyone in the room, and the only reason this one person got out was because they were already leaving a minute or two after seeing me leave.
unfortunately for them, the Ministers opening their eyes meant that they knew what everyone who had been in the room looked like. so they did not survive.
i was right beside them. but since the Ministers did not see me in that room, they did not acknowledge me.
(//dream ends before i can reach the Exit to this Domain, but it's heavily implied that i did considering that i had other dreams with other Domains.
all in all, very fun dream. extra points for being original, but cut points because this is just the average group project experience.)
update: been having a bunch of tma-inspired dreams that have some sort of overarching plot that i just can't place my finger on
it goes something like: a group of people, including me, go through a bunch of domains of different entities.
a bunch of people die in each domain, and we get some more people (who randomly appear due to Dream Logic) before going to the next domain
through sheer luck (and the fact that i can't really die because it's my dream) i survive and keep moving (i don't know if there's an end but it's Interesting enough that i don't want it to end)

hello! i heard roses wilt after a while (such a sad thing to be mortal)! so i made you one out of felt! 🌹

Oh my goodness, how sweet of you! I will greatly cherish this…
Consider: A Perfectly Normal Cup Of Tea!
It had water, milk, sugar, a tea bag (removed after steeping),
and a little bit of everything in the kitchen that dissolved in water (and everything in the kitchen that didn't dissolve in the water).
Let's see, there was cocoa powder, protein powder, a whole lemon, and bunch of fruit juices we found in the fridge to name some Normal Tea Ingredients We Used! :]
[// @a-bright-vessel ; this actually happened by the way :] we did drink it :] ]
...how about no?
Fun fact: It tasted fantastic!! I can make you a cup :]
i love being neither from britain/england nor america because it means i dont have to follow either of english rules.
meaning,,, i can fuck with people by going, "what's your favorite colour?" or, "what's your favourite color?" or some variation thereof. and the different spellings are all entirely dependent on how fancy and accent-y i'm feeling.
highly recommend
I was wondering about Time. Time is constant and marching on and you can only be dragged along with it. There is no escape. But that would be more towards the End.
No, I was wondering more about how large and vast (pun intended) time is. The world as you know it has existed for... 13? 14? billion years, possibly more.
You are not more than a blip on the map. And then Time will continue it's constant march after you are long gone.
The Vast covers the feelings of insignificance in Space as well, but I find Time particularly fascinating!
-🌟
P.S. : The Dread Powers are much more fascinating up close! I'm very glad I got permission to borrow them!
P.P.S. : What's your second favorite Dread Power?
No problem? I agree, the insignificance aspect of the Vast is terrifying, but thats what makes it fascinating!
My second favorite? Probably the End. Death doesn’t really scare me that much anymore, and Oliver’s cool.
had a vaguely tma-inspired dream with a bunch of people. the only thing I can remember is that we had to survive going through a bunch of random domains to get out.
and a bunch of them died. of course.
the one time I want to remember my dreams
monologuing is fun, but apparently it's "annoying" and "bad exposition" so i've been condemned to an existence where i can't monologue :/
