PSA: Jacob Seed is not a Marine. While he ENLISTED according to the BoJ, this does not mean he BECAME a Marine. 

82nd Airborne is not a Marine Branch.  In his Army portrait, he is seen wearing a maroon beret, Marines do NOT wear berets. Maroon berets are worn by  82nd Airborne troops. Marines are NOT airborne. They have not been airborne since 1944 when Paramarines were around.

People enlist in the Air Force all the time but end up joining the different military branches. Jacob is not seen wearing Jump Wings, which are only worn by Marines, Airforce, and Navy. Jacob is none of those things. He would have no reason to wear them because there’s no question on his Airborne status. When you think Marine, you don’t think Airborne. Jump Wings are down below

The XVIII Airborne Corps - which includes 82nd, are ALL trained at Fort Bragg. They are not at all connected to the Marine Corps. They are entirely different. To continue, the jacket he wears!

When Jacob says “82nd Airborne, all Americans” This is the 82nd nickname! “All American Division"  is another way to put it.

While the Marines are often called Devil Dogs - something they’re very very proud of! 

I see people commenting on his use of “hoorah” and often say “Marines don’t say hoorah, they say OORAH.” Yes. This is true. Because Jacob isn’t a Marine. But do you know who DOES say “hoorah”? 82nd Airborne. Marines are very quick to correct their peers when they say “hoorah,” so what makes people think Jacob would say it like that if he was a Marine? People thought it was a mistake on Ubisoft’s part, but for once, they were right! Their only mistake was calling him a Marine in BoJ.

Marines = OORAH

Airborne = HOORAH

Jacob is also a sniper in the division, 82nd snipers put Marine Scouts to shame. Jacob was supposed to be a master marksman, so would he not be in the superior unit? Marine Scout Snipers are also NEVER airborne. This marks Jacob off that list entierly. It is impossible for Jacob to be a Marine Scout Sniper AND apart of the 82nd Airborne Division. Ubisoft, please make up your mind. Jacob is either a Marine Scout or he’s an 82nd sniper, you CAN’T have both. It is impossible for Jacob to be a Marine.
