I think I will always love the movies for Boromir especially.

The books, just by the very nature of writing, cast such a darkness over him, with the descriptions of how the ring was taking hold over him, and just in general how unloved he was by his father (even though he was the favorite child), and how generally bleak his upbringing has been. He always felt like there was something sinister about him.

It's so easy to forget what a kind, loving man he is at his core, and the gift of the movies is that it was able to show that so beautifully in scenes like this.

While reading the books, I never cared that Boromir died. But watching the movies, it breaks my heart that he didn't make it to the end with the others.

I bet he would have personally escorted the hobbits all the way back to the shire. He would have loved being the friendly giant that all the kids rushed over to climb on.

He runs like an actual real person would over uneven ground 😂#The Hollywood Run is pretty to watch sure but also takes place on a paved surface usually#There is no way to look dignified whilst running across lumpy bumpy ground down across a hill.
