Good question.

I heard that some IchiRuki shippers were being rude to Ichihime shippers in 2016, back when the manga was still running, so I guess they are more or less taking their revenge.

Also, most IchiRuki stans left the fandom after the lame ending of Bleach, because they were disappointed. The only ones who stayed were those who have their canon ending (because nothing else really interested them in the end: the plot holes, the Sokyoku being rebuilt, Chad becoming a boxer… It was fine as long as Ori got her happy ending and married Ichi), that is to say Ichihime fans. They had no one to contradict them, and could brainwash the people who started Bleach with their: “It’s the anime/Studio Pierrot/Abe’s fault”, “Ichihime/Renruki was planned from the start” propaganda.

And it worked. This is how Bleach’s history underwent a total revisionism, and media literracy/criticism felt in the abyss.

Absolutely RIDICULOUS that they are setting up the "main couple" in the ending theme rather than in the body of the show (though if this is going to be taken as proof of romantic feelings then the other openings have to be canon moments and Ichigo and Rukia had a hardcore long-term relationship and are now very fond exes), but out of the whole sequence of 5 seconds this takes place in, two are wholly focused on Inoue psyching herself up to walk toward Ichigo (for some reason, during this clearly casual and common meet up with ALL of their friends, not just the two of them), and one is spent of Ichigo greeting Chad.

Then there is one second of Ichigo noticing and smiling at Inoue

And lastly two seconds of him greeting her and reacting to something she's saying (we know because his lips don't move), and then smiling and turning away as she laughs for an unspecific reason:

The smile he gives her is nice, but he spends more frames turning away from her than he does smiling at her, and he does it crazy quick. I had to try HARD to get this sequence of screenshots that turn away is so fast.

Again: this couple has TWO SECONDS of an ending as the only real positive smile that is unambiguously for and about Inoue from Ichigo in the entire series.

And then after a break there's a brief group shot and his body is turned away from her even though she's situated beside him:

At most, 3 seconds of highly dubious material is the prop TYBW is going with for them getting married later.

Ridiculous.

At least the canon shippers finally have a single smile from Ichigo that isn't for Rukia or Riruka for their ship posts. It's not canon, it's an ending music video and didn't happen in the series, but look! Inoue is even in the shot with him so they don't have to crop her in!

I left when the Manga was concluded cause I despised that ending and now the fandom is full of ichihime and people pushing the agenda that the old anime ruined their ship in favor of ichiruki, when in fact Kubo was the first one who baited fans for years.

The thing is, this is the last arc, so Kubo knew it was his last chance to make his endgame couples believable. But he didn’t succeed at all, because there was little to no development in the previous arcs.

Yeah, I agree. We all know Renji wouldn’t have done anything had Ichigo not intervened. But suddenly, we’re supposed to believe he loved Rukia so much he was ready to fight and rescue her? Lmao! This is NOT how you treat the woman you’re supposed to love (Lol). He was ready to let her be killed without batting an eye! I’m glad Renji evolved, I’m all for character development, but to think Renji was ready to let Rukia be executed was… really disturbing to me. Especially as they ended together.

Bwahaha, they are so insecure, oh my god. They can’t think about their fave or their ship without thinking about Ichiruki, this is so funny.

Of course they were gonna use the ending to justify their ship is canon. But in the end, they have nothing. I just ignore them, but this is very funny to see they kept being mad at IchiRuki, because they know how strong is their bond, while Ichihime has nothing, hihi. Ichigo’s happiest moment wasn’t even marrying Ori or having a kid with her.

Once the last cour will be over, nobody will pay attention to their ship. They know that, and are desperately trying to get attention.

I am absolutely sick and tired of the sheer disrespect and arrogance coming from Johnny Yong Bosch and Michelle Ruff. It is incredibly unprofessional and insulting how they constantly mock IchiRuki and laugh at the fans who support it.Let’s get one thing straight: voicing a character does NOT make you that character. You do not own Ichigo. You do not own Rukia. Tite Kubo created them, and you are just hired help paid to read lines off a script.The early seasons of the anime built an undeniable, beautiful dynamic between Ichigo and Rukia, and fans invested over a decade of emotional energy into that bond. For Johnny and Michelle to sit on convention panels, collect appearance fees paid for by fans, and then turn around and ridicule a massive part of the fandom is a slap in the face.Without fan passion, you wouldn't even have a platform to stand on. Show some damn gratitude and respect to the community that supports your careers. You can prefer the canon pairings without alienating and insulting the very people who put money in your pockets.
