@thegraylushipper Hear this. Just got off from vrchat. I explained why I don’t like the ending of bleach to a bunch of guys and why I don’t like Ichihime. They were losing absolute braincells when I would point out Oris behavior was obsessive and selfish. Such as:

-Her trying to kiss Ichigo when he was sleeping and I’m still salty she didn’t visit Tatsuki the bff she’s known for years

-Saying she and Ichi get along because of “similar traumatic childhoods” but really that’s just stupid?

-Fade to Black isn’t canon and said the story in it isn’t even good

-I said Ichi wasn’t comfortable when she wore that ugly boob window dress.

-Him and Rukia if they didn’t meet the story would not be able to proceed.

Big one!

-He paid more attention to Rukia than Ori and said “That doesn’t mean they’re in love!” Which I agree is subjective but both have been there for each other longer.

- Apparently I have pedophilic thinking shipping them just because Rukia is older.

Ichiruki Thoughts of the Day :

This is going to be another controversial thought. Knowing that Kubo ended the manga hastily, I sometimes wonder if he decided on Ichihime because it would be too complicated to write Ichiruki as endgame or how he wanted Ichigo to end up. There are too many questions, like Ichigo was basically every single species combined at that point 😂.

For Ichigo and Rukia to get together, either Ichigo goes to Soul Society, but that also means he can't live with his family anymore. Or Rukia gets stationed in Karakura Town but that kind of post is beneath her station at that point. I've always tried to envisioned what a happy ending would be.

Regardless, I think it ending on Ichihime might have just been plot convenience at that point.

ALSO, WHY DO MANGAKAS LIKE TO END THEIR SERIES WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER'S KIDS?!?! I DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR KIDS, I READ THIS MANGA FOR ICHIGO AND RUKIA, AND THE CURRENT CHARACTERS ‼️‼️‼️

Ichihime/Renruki fans are very toxic and have an obsession to act as the canon police. If you don’t say “Amen” to the canon ships (and more largely to everything Kubo did), you’re obviously an idiot (and I’m staying polite here because they are so much ruder than that) who don’t understand anything.

The age gap argument doesn’t even work because Ichigo’s parents themselves are the counterproof to it.

“But Isshin asked Masaki out and married her when they were both grown-ups!” Well, no IchiRuki stan ever said Rukia had to date Ichigo or have sex with him while he was still a minor, to my knowledge 🤨🫩🤦‍♀️.

My hatred for Horkihime has nothing to do with ships, and more to do with her shortcomings as a character, friend and basic human being. She’s a shit friend to Ichigo, to Rukia, to Tatsuki, to Ishida. To everyone.

Remember when she went to Hueco Mundo because she wanted to see if Ichigo would come save her? How she doubted him (SHE WAS RIGHT OF COURSE BUT STILL)

Remember how she didn’t go to Soul Society for Rukia but for Ichigo instead?

Remember how she begged a corpse to save her, remember how she didn’t acknowledge Uryu who nearly died for her during the Lust? Remember how she was jealous of her friend being near or AROUND ICHIGO? Remember how she didn’t say goodbye to Tatsuki? Remember how she planned on lying about Ichigos whereabouts to Rukia? Remember how She was glad Ichigo lost his powers? Remember how Rukia was impaled by Grimmjow and all Oriham could do was look at Ichigo?

 I’ve got tons, but why go one? When its already so obvious? She’s a cunt ;^) That’s why I hate her, she’s a wretched, nasty character, and should be done away with as soon as humanly possible.

It was shown time and time again Ori is unable to understand Ichigo. She might “know” him a little because she’s always looking at him, so she noticed some of his habits/expressions, but it’s only superficial. The people who knows Ichigo best are Rukia, who knows when Ichigo is down but also know how to cheer him up, and Uryū, who knows him to the point he knows Ichigo won’t stay without powers (cf The Death Saves the Strawberry) and knows exactly what he would say in which situation (cf The fight with Haschwalth in the recent episode of Cour 4 of TYBW).

I never took Orihime’s love for Ichigo seriously. She was just obsessed with the idea of him, but never protected/understood him the way Rukia and Uryū did? She claimed to love him, yet as you said, she was scared of his Hollow part even in the last arc. She turned against him in the Fullbring arc, blindly believing Tsukishima instead of the boy she supposedly “loves”, and she never let him try to explain the situation. This is why I can’t takes her seriously, her behavior was so bad at that moment… Yikes. This isn’t true love. This isn’t even love.

Remîder that Ichigo happiest moment in the epilogue wasn’t dating/marrying/having the kid with Ori, but seeing Rukia on his doorsteps.

Ichihime sucks.

Good question.

I heard that some IchiRuki shippers were being rude to Ichihime shippers in 2016, back when the manga was still running, so I guess they are more or less taking their revenge.

Also, most IchiRuki stans left the fandom after the lame ending of Bleach, because they were disappointed. The only ones who stayed were those who have their canon ending (because nothing else really interested them in the end: the plot holes, the Sokyoku being rebuilt, Chad becoming a boxer… It was fine as long as Ori got her happy ending and married Ichi), that is to say Ichihime fans. They had no one to contradict them, and could brainwash the people who started Bleach with their: “It’s the anime/Studio Pierrot/Abe’s fault”, “Ichihime/Renruki was planned from the start” propaganda.

And it worked. This is how Bleach’s history underwent a total revisionism, and media literracy/criticism felt in the abyss.

Absolutely RIDICULOUS that they are setting up the "main couple" in the ending theme rather than in the body of the show (though if this is going to be taken as proof of romantic feelings then the other openings have to be canon moments and Ichigo and Rukia had a hardcore long-term relationship and are now very fond exes), but out of the whole sequence of 5 seconds this takes place in, two are wholly focused on Inoue psyching herself up to walk toward Ichigo (for some reason, during this clearly casual and common meet up with ALL of their friends, not just the two of them), and one is spent of Ichigo greeting Chad.

Then there is one second of Ichigo noticing and smiling at Inoue

And lastly two seconds of him greeting her and reacting to something she's saying (we know because his lips don't move), and then smiling and turning away as she laughs for an unspecific reason:

The smile he gives her is nice, but he spends more frames turning away from her than he does smiling at her, and he does it crazy quick. I had to try HARD to get this sequence of screenshots that turn away is so fast.

Again: this couple has TWO SECONDS of an ending as the only real positive smile that is unambiguously for and about Inoue from Ichigo in the entire series.

And then after a break there's a brief group shot and his body is turned away from her even though she's situated beside him:

At most, 3 seconds of highly dubious material is the prop TYBW is going with for them getting married later.

Ridiculous.

At least the canon shippers finally have a single smile from Ichigo that isn't for Rukia or Riruka for their ship posts. It's not canon, it's an ending music video and didn't happen in the series, but look! Inoue is even in the shot with him so they don't have to crop her in!

I left when the Manga was concluded cause I despised that ending and now the fandom is full of ichihime and people pushing the agenda that the old anime ruined their ship in favor of ichiruki, when in fact Kubo was the first one who baited fans for years.
