"Yes, please continue your blood curdling screams. They give me life."
She stopped screaming and looked over her shoulder towards the voice.
"You're such a creep, Melinoe."

"Yes, please continue your blood curdling screams. They give me life."
She stopped screaming and looked over her shoulder towards the voice.
"You're such a creep, Melinoe."
"Bad night?"
"You! You knew about this, didn't you?"
"Arachne? Ah now I see what’s happened. Might I suggest we quiet down a little though? We don’t need anyone panicking if they hear you."
"Okay, okay.. Breathe, I need to breathe."
"How long have you known, spidey?"
"You scream any louder and people will start to worry."
"People should worry! We've been cursed and we're mortals, that should worry everyone!"
"Hey calm down! Seriously what is wrong?"
"What do you bloody think is wrong, Arachne?!" she said while getting out from the shower, almost stumbling out.
Do what you want What you want with my body Write what you want Say what you want 'bout me If you’re wondering Know that I'm not sorry You can't have my heart And you won't use my mind but Do what you want (with my body) Do what you want with my body You can't stop my voice cause You don't own my life but Do what you want (with my body)
I am Aphrodite // gmevent
Who was Aphrodite?
She had been called that so many times this week alone, it was a sweet nickname, she thought. Who would not love to be compared to the goddess of love and beauty? Aaliyah had been in the house all day, her head had started hurting at the bar, when someone shouted ‘Aphrodite’ across the room, and had to be physically removed from the bar. She was used to men being persistent around her, but it had started to happen more frequently and the men never used her real name, it was always Aphrodite.
She spent most of her day in bed, reading a book about Greek mythology. Aaliyah hated to read, but this was apparently the new thing and she didn’t want to miss out. She spent most of her time studying the pages about Aphrodite, she wanted to learn more about the goddess that everyone had started to compare her to. As she read on, the head ache got more intense, it felt like her head would split open. She could feel an enormous amount of pressure building up inside, it was like a hammer hitting metal over and over again.
Finally Aaliyah decided that she needed to try and escape from the pain, and instead decided to have a shower. A warm shower might help her clear her head and ease the pain. She walked the short distance to Danny's, not talking to anyone, but she just headed straight for her dressing room and shed her clothes. She turned on the water, and carefully stepped inside when the water was hot enough. As soon as the water hit, images started to consume her every thought. It didn’t feel right to call it images, it was more like… memories. They kept coming at her without mercy. Memories of sea-foam, memories of nights with different men, memories of a complicated marriage, memories of war and death – but most strong out of all of these, were the memories filled with love. That’s when it hit her, the inconceivable truth.
She was Aphrodite.
"Oh but isn’t that just like me to fancy something I can’t have. Funny how that keeps happening." She mockingly pouted, crossing her arms. "I guess you’re right. There isn’t much fun in being innocent, anyway…"
"Then you're like most girls, congratulations," she said with a laugh. "Amen to that. We have so much more fun than all those innocent dolls, who never leave their house or their husbands."
She shrugged, hardly insulted. She could hardly insulted when she still felt like she was playing a role. She wasn’t Clotho, not truly. “You don’t have to believe me, but that doesn’t make it less true.”
"I'm not even sure what you'll have me believe at this point."
Age of Athena Series
Aphrodite, Goddess of Love.
(ll. 1-18) I will sing of stately Aphrodite, gold-crowned and beautiful, whose dominion is the walled cities of all sea-set Cyprus. There the moist breath of the western wind wafted her over the waves of the loud-moaning sea in soft foam, and there the gold-filleted Hours welcomed her joyously.
"No I don’t think you do Aphrodite.."
"Excuse me?"
"No, oh no. I'm not going to be a part of this madness. I'm Aaliyah Shaw, you know that."
"Sucks to be out of the loop, doesn’t it."
"Yes, care to clue me in?"
"I think I can handle it. You’re definitely in good hands."
"I don't doubt it for a second. You look like a man who could fight off a lot of mythology freaks."
"People need the escape from reality sometimes. Myths are the cure to one’s soul."
"Great, another fortune cookie-speaker."
"Adonis was the lucky one, in my opinion." It took everything the woman had not to bust out laugh. But she managed to hold a straight face, only offering Aaliyah an innocent smile. "I can assure you, I’m up to nothing. Why would I be? Don’t I look innocent enough?"
"Do you fancy Aphrodite, Naveen? I hate to break it to you, but she's just a figment of your imagination," she laughed, still looking a bit confused by her friend. "You look about as innocent as me right now, love, and I'm far from it."
