TASSIEĀ is a hidden gem on our small blue planet.Ā
First Night in Tassie
This was our first night in Tasmania. Itās an island south of Melbourne, about an hour flight away. This is where our most adventurous part of the trip began. We met our host in a small town in the outback. He took us up to the bluff and we fired shotguns.
Great Ocean Road (Otway National / 12 Apostles)
When my friend Jill and I booked our trip to Australia, THIS was the day we were looking forward to the most. But we had been in Melbourne for a couple days and driving for a lot of the trip, and by the time 2 pm came around on this drive we were getting restless.Ā
We finally got to the 12 Apostles. The sun was beginning to set and our timing couldnāt have been better. The top was very touristy, until the time we tried to stay away from obviously touristy things. To us, the most attractive thing was to see the secret places that communities hide from tourists. But a friend once told me standing in front of the Mona Lisa, āyou have to be a tourist sometimesā. So we took pictures at the top, but we also noticed a sign for a longer path. A path to a beach. So we took a walk, and found ourselves walking right onto the most amazing scenery of our life and we were completely alone. Naturally we had to take pictures.
