Gaaah I’m beyond excited for my Bloo meal toys to arrive. I almost have every Bloo meal toy that has been released. Almost.

I’m still missing the freaky looking Bloo with the rolling eyes from McDonald’s. There’s also a Jollibee meal toy Bloo, but frankly, his arms terrify me, and it’s super rare. Both of these freaky dudes are exclusive to other countries. (pics below; not my images.)

I’m not at all someone who has to complete sets in order to be happy with their collection, but I just think Bloo meal toys are so cool lol. Eventually I’ll grab some of the other character’s meal toys, too.

Fun fact: Mac has only had two meal toys. (Pics bellow; not my images)

I think the most rare/obscure Foster’s meal toy by far has to be the Wilt straw from Jollibee, which has no documented pictures of its existence that could find aside from the promotion poster.

(Yes. I’m such a nerd lmao.) I love just documenting these things. Knowing these toys are out there is awesome. I never got to own any Foster’s meal toys as a kid myself, except for a second hand Wilt McDonald’s toy. I hope people can preserve them and document them (especially the Jollibee ones) if any more exit out there, unopened or used.

Well you’ll see him soon lmao. I’ll be starting on him next month when I get the supplies. I was talking to Angie about it before I bought the felt and stuffing. I was like, of course I had to choose the hardest of Bloo’s costumes for a plushie of lol. But I’m going try and make a pattern and watch a lot of sewing tutorials.

I’m not going to make the entirety of Orlando Bloo, though. Just Bloo’s 1/3 top half of the trio, otherwise it would be way too much for me to handle as someone who’s new to making felt plushies lol. Plus, it’s a cheaper option. So basically Bloo with the Orlando Bloo outfit, just a shorter jacket. If done right, it should still look cute though!

I love the Fhfif fandom, but sometimes it irritates the hell out of me. Especially the fact that some of the fandom is extremely closed-minded nowadays. I sometimes like to stay in my own bubble, although the majority of the fandom is amazing and so kind.

Society is also so different now. Like, I get that Foster’s might be more modern in the new Fftfif spin-off, and that’s to be expected in order to appeal to kids of this generation I suppose. The show also has many generation alpha fans now it seems. But the original show is from my childhood era. We didn’t have iPads, we didn’t have smartphones and tablets and obnoxious brain rot— at least not like the brain rot today that is literally ridiculous. Cough skibidi toilet. We also didn’t make a big deal about everything little thing and throw tantrums over fiction. It was a more simple, chill time.

In fact, in some scenes in the show we can clearly see it’s still in the early 2000’s. Something so frozen in time and canonical, it makes me happy to know that the show still exists in a simpler time. I grew up with this show and it’s characters. This show is for all audiences, yes; but of course the original audience will feel a deeper connection to it in a sense that it encapsulates the era of our childhood. 🥹

I highly doubt anyone would like the spinoff more than the original show. Fosters home for imaginary friends has extreme creativity, like a hundred imaginary friends in there DRAWN. And ANIMATED. For the spinoff?.... It doesn't feel like we're gonna see those same old characters again. Unfortunately I'm old enough that i could've watched it while it aired. But I was never introduced to it to my parents. They didint like it when I looked at cartoon network. So it was hard to watch any of those but I have less restrictions now because I'm much older so....

There's alot of good on the og show than the spinoff can have. Because what do you mean were only gonna see Bloo and Madame Foster? Madame Foster without Herriman is insane. Like insane insane! But hey, I won't judge the book by it's cover that much. Just talking by perspective

Oh I totally agree! The spin-off is just something I’m looking forward to so I can relive my childhood at this point haha. I know it’s going to be good, especially since Craig has all control over this project. I cannot wait to See Bloo, and Keith reprise his role, but nothing could beat the original. Cheese is also rumoured to be returning, which is great. Seeing Cheese living at Foster’s was always a concept I wanted to experience ever since the original series finale.

As for the lack of other core characters from the original, I feel like we will definitely get cameos at some point, especially if the series takes off, which I kind of hope it does. The more new Foster’s content I can enjoy, the better. It will be very different without Mac, but I feel like new characters, like the younger imaginary friends, will be a stand in to bounce his humour and chaos off of. As Craig McCracken himself said:

“He’s an idiot.”

But in all seriousness, I agree. The art style was great, the characters were great, the humour was great, and it’s timeless, a reflection of the early 2000’s. I wish the spin-off could have taken place years later, since canonically, the original show takes place in the early 2000’s. They will likely modernize a lot for the spin-off, which would make better sense if it were years later and not just a few months later as Craig stated. However, I trust Craig’s vision and I know it will be a great installation to the series, and it kind of makes sense to take this route. Madame foster is old. And 16 years is a massive time jump, a lot would have changed. Keeping things familiar and in the spirit of the original is probably the best road to take with a show as beloved as Foster’s. It’s just more proof that not everyone needs to be taken so seriously in this show, though. It can be whatever year you’d like it to be when the story picks back up.

My main concern is that some canonical things may be changed or erased, but I trust that most things will remain the same. There are many obscure concepts that keep the show interesting and magical for me, so hopefully it also doesn’t delve too far into lore either. Regardless, the original series is a great stand alone piece that is perfection in every way.
