Viper’s bats come alive!

Viper’s bats come alive, now stand one win away from the crown.

The ride up the coast sparked some runs!  The home field advantage for the Blue Horses didn’t seem to have much of an impact against the Vipers.  After a couple of pitching duels Game 3 flipped the switch to offense.  Tonight we saw 20 hits and 8 runs.

Curry, starting pitcher for the Horses, struggled to find his control early.  Hitting two batters and allowing a run in the first two innings.  Curry seemed to settle in and shut down the Vipers for three solid innings.  He even had a little support from his teammates.

Viper’s starter Logan was perfect after the getting through the Horses line up.  The Wolverine wasn’t as lucky the second time through.  Surrendering two doubles in the 4th, the Blue Horses had tied the game at 1-1.  After eight innings Logan finished with 11Ks, allowing 2 runs off of 5 hits.  Weapon X earned the win after the Vipers blew the game wide open in the sixth.

Logan batted leadoff in the sixth and smack a HARD line drive to deep right field.  That line drive may have rattled Curry.  Curry proceeded to walked the next batter gave up four straight hits and the Vipers scored three runs.  After giving up six runs Curry was pulled with a runner on in the seventh.

“It’s unreal.  We are right there, we are playing hard, we all want it.”  Viper’s center fielder Tyler had a career night on the biggest stage possible.  The leadoff man went 4-5 with an RBI and scored two runs.  He also had an incredible throw out at home plate to end the game.  “The shoulder power has always been there for me.  If a runner is going I always feel as though I can throw him out.  Give the credit to Grape Juice, he made the tag.”  Humble.

Vipers up 2-0

Williams’ gem puts Vipers up 2-0.

The Championship Stage is not lacking in pitching.  After two games both teams have combined for 3 runs.  Actually the Vipers have scored 3 runs and have been able to shut out the Blue Horses in the first two contests.  With how well the staff has been throwing, the Vipers are building confidence in themselves to find a run.

“If we have base runners, hit it deep.  If no one is on try and get on base.”  Reflecting on his RBI triple, Viper’s All-Star Chan went 1-3 and also scored a run.  “We can win with small ball too, but they are pitching extremely well.  As long as we continue to take advantage of the few opportunities we get, we should hopefully keep rolling.”  The third basemen likes the Vipers odds of winning two more games.

But the W belongs to Williams.  After his complete game he piled up 14 Ks and only allowing 4 base runners. The Vipers’ pitching staff continues to impress this postseason.  After 5 games played the Vipers have only surrendered 4 runs.  Two more wins stand between the Vipers and the crown.

Vipers blank Horses

Moreno, Vipers blank Horses, lead Championship 1-0.

Vipers grabbed a one run lead in the fourth inning and that was enough to secure the victory.  As expected, game 1 didn’t bring fireworks with offense. Both teams combined for a total of 8 hits and 1 run.   Game 1 will go down as a classic pitcher’s duel for the ages.

The Aces each had enough to go the distance with Moreno earning the W.  “We want to have the best options available for any situation we may find ourselves in.  It is a long series and we will use whoever is ready to help.”  Said Viper’s manager on the decision to start Moreno in game 1.  “If he is ready and can pitch three games like he just did, I will give him the ball.”  Only giving up 3 hits Moreno also struck out 11 in 9 innings of work.  

His counterpart on the other side also had a strong showing in defeat.  Blue Horses’ number one Green aloud 1 run over 8 innings while striking out 5.  That run came from an RBI single from Conner the Purple Vipers’ designated hitter.  The Horses will have to learn how to utilize the DH slot as the visiting team.  Who knows what kind of series still awaits us, but we do know we won’t see any pitchers stepping up to the plate.

The foreign symbols are somewhat telling that this game wasn’t meant for a US release.  Perhaps this is just an unfinished version, or no body bothered to check.  Either way I was unable to dig up any evidence via Tasuke’s website.   Moving on here is the “Newly unlocked” screen for the Championship series.

Again no need to bother checking this one out before selling it.  No idiot is going to actually play through a 144 game season and advance to the end! Just a reminder the Purple Vipers are ALREADY champions and this proves it!  Had to time this since it only lasted about 3-5 seconds.  I was prepared since the Vipers were rewarded with a very similar screen after interleague play ended...
