i just wanted to express how much i loved your conquering utah fic ! i just love the way you write mateos pov and the texting is so good. i really liked the whole thing about mateos calm demeanor being something that draws people to him because by the way he’s always giggling in the show that man is not as nonchalant as he seems lol

i have this fic idea i was going to request but it's so hyper specific i was like "let me just write it myself"

okay what if dex x fem!reader... but walk w me here okay. the reader actually enjoys violence in a way similar to dex (for lack of a better description) and has directed that towards payback on behalf of other women. i picture the reader being an urban legend in a way and women write to her like kids write to santa but instead of for christmas, it's after a traumatic event. she kills abusers, rapists, assailants, etc...... (this is lowkey inspired by susenyos from immortal dark iykyk)

also i think that samira teaches whitaker something insanely important that robby never would be able to teach, which is that his idea of what a drug-seeking patient "looks like" is completely inaccurate and rooted in racism. the show doesn't outright say it, but whitaker's suspicion of joyce requesting pain meds was rooted in anti-black bias!!! samira is (as far as we're told) the ONLY doctor in the er who is specifically researching this niche of medical racism and prioritizing the care of the people who are most affected by it. but the showrunners were like nah, we'll write off our only doctor who talks about being anti-racist and initiates conversations about racial bias.... which could mean nothing

there's like a specific kind of misogyny in media that really grates on me almost more than anything else. its when a male character is overtly misogynistic and the narrative frames this as a bad quality, but the presence of misogyny + any female characters in the cast only exist to provide characterization and depth for the man. its like a sleight of hand trick where you pretend to be Commenting on gender relations without ever actually having to do something icky like flesh out the interiority of a complex female character. or god forbid make a female character the protagonist/pov.
