I was asked by BusterTheButler (Deviantart) to help create a character based loosely off of Kiros from Mufasa. The movie is a favourite of mine and Kiros definitely one of my favourites so I was very excited to help their vision come to life.

This whole project was so much fun and I am SO happy with how it turned out. Buster was great to work with and their vision made it very easy to draw. Originally this was supposed to just be a full body drawing but it turned into a simplified reference sheet after we both fell in love with the headshot I had sketched just to get an idea of face shape.

I can't recall the last time I worked with such a soft/light colour pallet and it was a little difficult at first as I wanted to make sure the character could stand out without making the pattern or coloured too dramatic and after some help with suggestions from Buster I think we were able to complete that.

Longtail of ThunderClan

Well it took me a while to figure out how I wanted him to look but I think I am finally happy with him! Longtail has always been a favourite of mine and so his design was so much fun to work on! He had such an amazing character development, more than most if you ask me and the way he was able to prove his loyalty to ThunderClan sure is something special.

Next up will be Runningwind! Another cat that though he didn't have much page time in the books still managed to become a quick favourite of mine.

Well looks like I am not going to tire of this project anytime soon. I am having so much fun working through the characters in the Into The Wild allegiances.

Darkstripe was fun to work on, especially with his annoyed, "grrr" expression haha.

Next up will be Longtail, I am SO looking forward to working on him. I have always adored Longtail.

After a much needed family reunion with family from all across the country I am finally back to drawing and it feels so good.

Whitestorm, I cannot explain how much I love this character and his death broke my heart. I added a few hints of light gray to his fur as a subtle hint to his father, Thistleclaw.

Tigerclaw, love him or hate him he had a pretty big impact in all the clans. I will admit that he was and probably still is one of my favourite villains in the series. He was clever, cunning and would do whatever was needed to get what he wanted (the makes of a true villain).

I sure had a lot of fun working with this pose and his design. Hope you guys like him!

Lionheart of ThunderClan

Lionheart was up next! How can you not love this fluffy boy. I did my best to make him look large and sturdy. I like the younger youthful look he has here. I always pictured him being a bit of a kit at heart. He was only 7 I believe when he died due to his injuries so he really wasn't that old, hence the younger appearance.

Hope you like him as much as I do!

Spottedleaf of ThunderClan

I am on a roll if I do say so myself! I am liking each drawing more and more <3 It has been so nice to have to urge to draw again and actually be happy with the results.

Spottedleaf of ThunderClan, she has a pretty interesting description. Taken from Warriors Wiki:

Spottedleaf is a small, lithe, soft-furred, dark tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat with large, warm, amber eyes, and white-tipped ears. Her coat is distinctively dappled and mottled with orange and brown markings, and she has a small, pink nose. One of her eyes is rimmed with darker fur than the other, and she has small white paws, a white muzzle and chest, and a black-tipped, gold-and-brown-striped tabby tail.

I went with orange striping on the tail because gold just didn't work with the colours I had chosen and I extended the white down along her stomach as well as I thought the pop of brighter white just tied it all together.

Whew! I can't even begin to tell you how many times I edited this drawing! I have always struggled with Redtails design and I think I am FINALLY happy with it!

I redrew the sketch 4 different times, all the same pose too, I just couldn't get him to look right.

And then when I was finally happy with sketch and lineart I redid his colours and patterns 5 times.

But I digress... I now LOVE how it looks and I hope you do as well <3

Ah Redtail how I wish he would have lived longer in Into the Wild. I think he would have been such a great character.

Bluestar of ThunderClan
