Let me tell you the story of my blog name.

It was the year 2022, and I was a hair dye addict. Still am if I deign to be honest. But the job i worked was cool with my crazy hair.

On a visit to my family's house when i was living out of state, I was bleaching my roots and had previously used color oops to remove my last emotional dye job. The way my hair was on top of my head looked wild as fuck. But I was just kickin it, watching Back to The Future.

My brother came in the room I was sitting in and stopped dead in his tracks.

"You look like the front person in some rad, bitchin punk band!"

I was like "Oh yeah, what would it be called??"

He says to me, "Something really wild and in your face. Like, i dunno, Abortion Barbie or some shit like that!"

I thought it was a genius name. Fucking Abortion Barbie. So I said, damn, that's my new tumblr name!

I figured you'd all like to know that story. When i think about the way it happened, all I can do is smile.

I know that being positive in the face of adversity is quite an important thing but I also think that taking a moment to just breathe and entertain the thought of "but what if this happens instead of that" is important too. Not in the sense of, "if this does happen, everything will be over" but actually in the sense of, "if this does happen, it will not be the end because these are the ways with which I can continue".

I just think that knowing life can still be alright if it doesn't go the way you most wish it should, makes facing the adversity a little easier. Makes it less scary. And if something is a little bit less scary, that makes it that much easier to achieve.
