My 1st Mood Board for The Interior Design Institute's assignment.
As part of my journey into interior design, I recently completed my first project at the Interior Design Institute — an in-depth analysis of an apartment designed by Arthur Casas in Paris.
More than a technical exercise, this assignment became an invitation to observe space with new eyes: to notice not only furniture, but flow. Not only color, but emotion.
I explored the seven core elements of design — space, lines, shapes, color, texture, light, and pattern — and how they interact through principles like balance, rhythm, emphasis, proportion, and harmony.
What stood out to me most was how everything “breathes” in this apartment. The negative space (what isn’t there) becomes just as important as the pieces that are. The way light touches the raw wood beams. The quiet strength of horizontal lines.
It reminded me that good design is not just about what we add — but what we allow to remain open.
I’m sharing a few images from the project.
I have some exciting news to share! I just enrolled in the Interior Design course at the Interior Design Institute.
I reached a pivotal moment in my life where I decided to stop waiting for my dreams to come true. For far too long, I focused on pleasing others, trying to distract myself from my true path.
Now, in my 40s, I’ve become a conscious and strong woman, yet I felt something was missing. I knew deep down that I wasn’t pursuing what truly fulfilled me.
I am passionate about beauty and love being surrounded by it—architecture, textiles, materials, furniture, colors, shapes, and art! Unfortunately, my role as Director of Operations didn’t provide that creative spark.
Now, I’m thrilled to embark on this important journey. I will pour my heart and soul into it, eager to see what incredible opportunities lie ahead!
Xoxo, Jenn

First time living alone. First time away from my family. First time living in Paris. Consigo sentir as novidades acontecendo no ar. Respiro arte, reparo no estilo, me surpreendo e me questiono. Tento entender, copiar e me vejo vivendo em Paris.
