this really hit me and I thought it was worth sharing
A lot of people think this way because we grow up inherently believing that we should always be punished for simply existing and having a hard time with it. It’s not “I deserve to work in a clean space” it’s “I’m such a lazy fuck and I need to punish myself with mundane chores”. So re-framing your mindset to be more grace-filled helps you learn how to be kind to yourself and allows you to then spread that kindness in other ways.
This is basically a go-to for dealing with anxiety or any similar disorder. It’s a process and it’s hard at start. but when you repeat it enough, you’ll definitely reprogram your subconscious.

Instead of “ugh i gotta workour”, I tell myself I deserve to live a healthy life with the people I love”. so many things we can accomplish by reframing our mindset.” end id]

Imagine seeing the most adorable photograph ever taken and getting angry about it. Hey internet, are you good?

Dear @nytimes
Please take down your pay wall for all the stories about Donal Trump’s failure to pay taxes for years and cheating America.
The people have the right to know and not all of them can pay to read your very important story.
this is NOT a pdf of the Sept. 27, 2020 NY Times article about the deep thorough investigation into Trump’s tax returns or anything…..
do NOT check out this reblog to see if it’s been edited with an article for you to read or something….

Rest in peace, Chadwick.

This was already amazing. But that reblog comment and the extra they hid in the tags (for some unfathomable reason) makes this fucking hilarious and I love it even more. XD
Learning this as a new dad: There’s a lot of info out there. Most of it contradicts each other. My wife and I have been reading a lot, studying a lot, listening to a lot of opinions. But the most important thing I’m learning is to read, study, and listen to our daughter. To be attentive to her needs.
I had it backwards. I thought she would conform to the stuff we read. But rather it was better to see what she needs first, then see if anything we had read would fit her. And no single thing works all the time. It would be like trying to romance my wife with ten techniques I had read, when instead I could just find out what she likes first.
That little girl is going places
I know more about economics than AOC and my knowledge on economics is on a high school level. Its actually embarassing how little she knows about this shit. But hey, expecting a socialist to know about economics is like expecting a fish to know what a desert is.
Much of the ocean is a desert
You know what? Let’s use the allowance example again to make it even clearer.
Let’s pretend we have an allowance tax bracket with a 70% tax on money received after a certain point. To keep things simple, we’ll make the limit $90.
If a kid does chores and earns $10 in allowance, they get $10. They’re not going to be affected by the 70% tax.
If a kid does chores and earns $50, they get $50. They also aren’t in the 70% tax bracket, even though they make five times as much money as the kid making $10.
If a kid does chores and earns $100 in allowance, then they’re in the allowance tax bracket with the 70% tax.
$100 minus $90 is $10. This is the part that’s going to be taxed 70%.
70% of $10 is $7.
So the kid getting $100 in allowance will have $93 after the 70% tax takes its share.
Now, I’d never impose such a thing on actual kids. All of this is a thought exercise.
But if it were real, the kid making $10 and the kid making $50 would probably be kind of mad if the kid getting $93 was bitching about being short $7.
Also AOC majored in economics (actually one of her two majors) so step the FUCK off my congresswoman tyvm
