I know. It's been awhile. I've been busy, but I'm back with ambition. Frusterated ambition albeit. Don't bother asking, just read my new poem; i'm gonna start doing more of these:

I need another shot of this wonderful vexation as I sit here in my room on this dark Sunday night give me something anything for that previous sensation of a lovely indignation. Just one tiny photo of a creepy politician Or a slanderous commercial with no facts at all Emotions gather tension, eyes swell up this drug of passion this column of fury feels good feels right justified justice oh yes that's how it should be oh no this is wrong arrest him! arrest that there! Stop this! Stop that! Oh my god! Did that just happen? Apologize now! What is this world coming to? Agh ahah! JUST RE-WATCHED THE LIFE AQUATIC WITH STEVE ZISSOU

I saw this film when it came out in the theaters in 2004, and I don't know why, but it somehow stuck with me throughout the years. There's something just wonderfully abstract about the whole film. From the made-up fish to the half-naked woman (who has no job but to sit in the sun), from the boat with an interesting historical military past that is now subject to ridiculous additions with a ridiculous film crew to the awkward tension between a man and his possible son, to a guy who, throughout the production, plays ear-pleasing tunes, but accompanies them with incomprehensible words (and, through no coincidence, is the only black man in the film), this film makes fun of everything in our world, the media and life. It's a beautiful nonsense film that means everything.

Why Abstract Point?

The name, abstract point, has a few different ideas connected to it. First, it tells the reader that this blog does not have a specific topic because it follows my vast enjoyments over a plethora of topics. Second, I'm writing about what defines me, and we all know that's abstract. Third, it is a disclaimer. Everything is subjective. I might even look back a year from now and hate what I am writing now.

First things first

Dear Reader

Life is a wonderful glamour of things that exist and things that don't exist, and occasionally there is a person who brings it all together in one fanciful newspaper (the onion) or blog (mine I hope) and a more than warranted amount sell out (not the onion) and end up spilling out articles that fail in the spectacular department (wow. I'm so overselling my tumblr right now). My life has consisted of things I like and then things I like just because other people like them, and throughout the years these two parters have slowly entangled themselves so that I have no idea which is which. So that's that. I'm taking a stand-marking a new 2011 decade in my life, where I gradually define who I am and I don't sell out. This blog will consist of tids and bits and tidbits of photos, videos, writing pieces (either by me or by people I identify with). I am an ib high school senior who is very theatre oriented, I recently took part in a Columbia University creative writing advanced program and enjoyed it thoroughly, and I like cheese.
