He was admittedly slightly annoyed by her question. “Yes.” He held his gaze on her for a moment, the emotion behind his words was flat. “To both questions.” Kai locked his eyes back on his phone. Though he wasn’t actually watching porn, it was his kindle app.

It was obvious that this guy wasn’t a big talker, but now that he’d admitted that he was watching porn, she was oddly interested in him. Most people would’ve just lied and said no, but not him. “Cool,” she said, then tried to sneak a peek at his screen. “Little weird that you’re watching it in public, but whatever floats your boat, man. We’ve all got our thing.”

When the girl removed her sunglasses, Acacia studied her face for a moment. She was pretty, and that was hard for her to admit, considering the other was supposed to be her enemy. It was a little hard to hate someone with a face like that, though. “I’m a kind person,” she replied with a shrug of her shoulders, then sat down on the bench. “You do, huh? Lucky me. Do you purr if I touch you in the right places, too?”

Acacia chuckled and elbowed Stef back as gently as she could, because if she actually hurt her, she’d probably feel guilty for at least a month. It wasn’t often that she was soft with people, but Stef was different. She’d always been good to her, and stayed a true friend. “What app do you suggest, then? Christian Mingle?” she asked, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. “WSU is alright, I guess. Not really digging the whole being forced to mingle with the kittens, though. But what can ya do. How about you? You enjoying yourself?”

Maybe it was a little traitorous to be flattered by the compliment, but she loved attention. Besides, nobody from the Panthers had to know. “You think so?” she asked, moving towards the bench. “Wanna join the line? I’ll even let you cut to the front.”

I can’t walk around wearing a basic flashing sign.” Acacia grinned at her friend, then shrugged one of her shoulders. “I mean, would I look great enough for you to take me up on the offer?” she asked, wiggling her eyebrows playfully. “No homo, though, obviously.” Stef thought she was better than Tinder? Her stomach fluttered a little. “Nah, Tinder was made for a stud muffin like me!”

Kai hadn’t really been paying attention to what the girl was saying, but it didn’t take him long to realize that though he’d made an attempt to avoid conversation, her eyes were on him now. Begrudgingly he turned to look at her, just in time to hear her statement about the sign. Kai furrowed his brow slightly, but didn’t respond with any more than an “Mhmm.” turning his attention back to his own device.

Mhmm? Was that all this guy had to say to her? Her statement deserved a three word response, at the very least. “Wow, has anyone ever told you that your conversation game is off the charts?” she asked, giving him a sarcastic smile – not that he noticed it, because he went back to looking at his phone immediately. “You watching porn or something?”

Leaning against the wall, Acacia lit up a cigarette, then took a long drag. “Seriously, Tinder sucks,” she said as she exhaled, her eyes now fixed on the person standing near her, rather than the app on her phone. “I’m considering wearing a flashing ‘hook up with me’ sign. It might be more effective.”
