i (m-ish, 750-ish) have taught my pet dog how to speak. it refers to me in a way appropriate for dog to its owner, but the problem is that that's also how i used to refer to my ex-boyfriend (usually m but currently genderless as they are a skeleton, 751-ish) and it's making me want to get back together with him but that's a bad idea for several reasons. i want to reprogram my dog but my girlfriend (f, 140) would notice if it started calling me something different and i'd rather avoid the uncomfortable questions. what's my best course of action?
