Farah Black:

Treated as the competent cheerleader to the popular m/m pairing. Despite being one of arguably four main characters in the second season, she spends the finale lying half dead in a ditch while everyone else gets to go have interesting interactions with each other and save a world.

She's such a weirdo and a mess in a way I think Black characters and especially dark-skinned Black women don't often get to be. She wants to be normal so bad but she's not. I actually enjoy her relationships to the main guys too, she plays off them really well and even one of them having a crush on her and them hooking up is handled pretty well and doesn't overshadow either of their characters.

Clara Oswald:

She's an arrogant, manipulative, controlling and lying adrenaline junkie, just like the main character of the show. But while the main character is loved by all, Clara is said to be "too important", she takes up too much narrative space, she doesn't get shamed and punished like she deserves too, she's a Marry Sue. She's said to be completely unlikable, despite being clever, brave and kind. She's a "male fantasy".

She's a complex person with many different qualities. She can be shitty and she can be amazing, she challenges the main character for narrative space and in the end takes up his role, becoming a hero of her own <3

we need more non white writers in doctor who because realistically if the master regenerated into what humans perceive as an indian british man his instinct would not be to join the nazis, it would be to troll the hell out of everyone. the master would be like "ugh. unit is always racially profiling me" and the doctor would be like "you literally tried to set london on fire" and the master would be like "wow, doctor, racist much? just assuming i'm a criminal because i'm a brown man?" and the doctor would be like "three hundred years ago you tried to blow up the taj mahal" and the master would be like "what can i say? it was in the way"

crucially, where the doctor is more or less indifferent to human bigotry and identity (and would just be confused if subjected to misogyny), the master is really invested in human bigotry and identity and, more to the point, finds them hilarious. john simm's master would complain about reverse racism, michelle gomez's master would be catty and misogynistic to clara and then be like i can't be sexist, i'm literally a woman, i could not more clearly be wearing high heels, and sacha dhawan's master would commiserate with yaz about racism whilst telling her to her face that she is lesser than him for being human

The idiot who wrote the original post needs to watch Classic Doctor Who, including particularly every episode featuring the Master. Watch "The Deadly Assassin," where to prolong his life, he nearly destroys Galifrey, his home planet. Then "Logopolis," when his sad attempts at power cause whole sections of the universe, including Traken, a planetary system devoted to peace. Get over your inferiority complex.
