Hi, I point out Ringo Starr references in posts that are not related to Ringo whatsoever. This is a silly side blog.

This blog idea is by @the-accidental-beatles-reference but instead of Beatles, it’s just Ringo. Because I like his solo career a lot and this is something I also do in real life. I am a chore to be around.

My main blog is @ringos-of-the-ringo-starr-show where I post other things. Also to do with ringo (I’m sure you couldn’t tell).

Step -> ‘Step Lightly’ is a track on the second side of the 1973 Ringo Starr album ‘Ringo’. It’s the only track he wrote himself with no aid (unless presumably George didn’t want to get credited) on the album.

Heptagon -> a shape with seven sides -> seven -> seven times ten is 70 -> 1970 -> ‘Early 1970’ is a Ringo Starr song made after the Beatles breakup in 1970. This is a single but also on the bonus track version of his 1973 album ‘Ringo’

Beans -> Ringo was known to be an avid consumer of beans, supposedly bringing a suitcase of them to India and having to leave when he ran out. He did this because he was afraid the spices would mess up his stomach as he’s always had a weak one (if I remember correctly, I think that’s what he or someone he knew said about it).

Paradise -> ‘Postcards From Paradise’ is a Ringo Starr album from 2015. The opening track, ‘Rory And The Hurricanes’ is about his earlier life in his first band of the same name (Rory STORM And The Hurricanes but you get the point).

‘Abbey Road’ -> a song on ‘Abbey Road’ is ‘Here Comes The Sun’ -> ‘Here Comes The Sun was about you’ -> lyric from ‘Never Without You’ -> song on Ringo Starr’s 2003 studio album ‘Ringorama’. The aforementioned song was dedicated to his close friend and former band mate, George Harrison.

Garden -> English Garden is the closing track on Ringo Starr’s 2003 album ‘Ringorama’. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s about Barbara Bach, his wife, and it’s a very cute song.

Weed -> another word for weed is marijuana -> ‘then she held out some marijuana’ -> lyric from ‘No-No Song’, a track on Ringo Starr’s 1974 ‘Goodnight Vienna’ album. ‘No-No Song’ is a track he likes to play a lot now (I believe), especially after going sober in the 80s since he was having a particularly turbulent time with addiction and his marriage.

Father -> another word for father is daddy -> ‘Who’s Your Daddy’, featuring soul singer Joss Stone, is the end track on Ringo Starr’s 2010 album ‘Y Not’ which (I think I’ve mentioned this before) was the first album he produced himself.
