i understand why other countries don’t like the haka being performed before rugby matches. i understand that it feels like an unnecessary advantage, giving the All Blacks time right before a match to perform a dance intended to intimidate. i personally disagree, as i believe it’s more about showing that New Zealand is proud of our Maori heritage, and showing that pride on a world stage, but i do understand the opposing argument.

so if people want to disagree with the haka being performed, i get it. but it needs to be understood that mocking the haka itself isn’t just mocking the All Blacks, it’s mocking Maori culture, it’s mocking our pride in our Maori culture, it’s mocking Maori people and the endless struggle to retain that culture and to make New Zealand in general proud and respectful of that culture.

and hey! guess which country it was that planned and enacted the deliberate attempt to destroy said culture? i’ll give you a hint - it’s the one where someone who thought a “hakarena” would be funny comes from.

So... I've seen the england - france game, have you? The french are really fit and strong. Luke Cowan-Dickie has the worst hair in professional rugby atm. England are pretty deadly and good at scoring tries. The french have stronger forwards (which is pretty amazing) and they can offload very good. Poor Brice Dulin got a bit beaten up and mobbed. :(

The main reason I’m publishing this is so that we can all have a good talk about Cowan-Dickie’s awful hair. I mean, why. Just why, Luke.
