Well. There are different types of romantic stories. Just as there are different categories of sex scenes in movies and tv. I guess we personally don't see the point in thinking of how characters would interact if they were in the type of story that doesn't first show you much of the emotions or connection between the characters.

There's nothing wrong with that sort of story, and they have their use. It just feels to us like the meaty bits are being tossed away to interact with a less interesting version, but perhaps because we lack the thing that makes us feel that sex without much context behind it is in itself meaty.

To each their own. But at the same time, no matter how many tags I block, many things are still absolutely full of shipping and "reader" shipping, and I have to wonder if anyone has even posted anything about the thing that's actually, you know. About the thing!

One running theme in Genesis A is that the first born comes out kind of wrong.

This does not particularly help when you are a NB girl failure first born.

Probably everyone and anyone knows the insanity of BG3 by now but i‘d like to share the hijinks moments from my very first solo play I started in 2024, left for dead for one and a half years and only recently (like a month or so) picked back up. Have not finished it yet.

Info: I decided on a buff afab bard who only became ace because I am a little too ace for this game, probably. (I plan to change that on a second play-through)

1.Lae‘zel accosted me out of nowhere during my third or fourth long rest and demanded a fight because she wanted to date my Tav. I hadn’t put her in my party, she was at camp for the whole time. I do not know how her approval got anywhere near the point of dating but my Tav had to let her down easily because I wandet to romance Karlach. Speaking off…

2. The utter dread I felt when I was probably ten hours of playtime past the tiefling party and learned that you couldn’t romance Karlach if you didn’t inviter to your bed that night. And I did not want to loose my progress so I steadied on with a heavy heart.

3. Withers apprently is interested in Tav‘s romance life…. When speaking to Withers in the Mountain pass, (which I only entered half way through act 2 to get more XP/level up) the bone man got a little accusatory about Tav not having taken anyone to bed. Love that the devs put that in as an interaction but it felt a little personal

4. the Emperor trying to be romantic with my Tav at the start-ish of Act3 and my ace bard having to let them down gently-ish, because there is a time and place for tentacles, but that was not it.

5. ONE (1) Real Life day later: Mizora trying to f*ck my Tav because Hells know why.

4. &6. happened over the span of the last two days. I do not know if I am fine but will update this post of something happens.

At this point I feel like the game is screaming at me „you got to choose your genitalia, use them!“

"crochet can't be made by machines" went from being a cool fun fact to being a call to action of "so if you see mass manufactured crochet in Target, that was made by a person and they were underpaid and you should boycott it" which is true, it was made by a person, but EVERY item of clothing you own (that you did not purchase from a company using ethical labor) was made by a person being underpaid (at *best*.)

Sewing machines are operated by *people*. Knitting machines are operated by *people*. Yes lots of the process is automated but you cannot tell a machine "make me a t-shirt" or "make me a knit cardigan".

Higher awareness of fast fashion, and the true human labor and abuse behind it, is GREAT, but let's not pretend that the crochet hat in target is THE problem. Every article of clothing in target is the problem. "All clothes are made by people" is the jumping off point here into understanding this issue it's not just crochet it's the whole thing ahhhhHHHHHHHHHH

Genesis 6-7 (Noah and the flood)

God: „I regret making humans. I‘m gonna start over… Hey you! Yes you! Noah! I‘m going to kill everyone and everything. Go build a sea-house for you and your sons. And your guys‘ wives….Oh! And put a pair of every animal in there too.“

*proceeds with the flood and bottlenecks the entirety of everything*

Genesis 9 (after the flood)

Noah: *plants a vineyard, get‘s black out drunk and falls asleep naked in his tent*

Ham (one of Noahs Sons): *accidentally walks in on his father passed out and naked.*

*goes back out and tells his brothers*

His brothers cover their father up

Noah: *learns of the incident after waking up* „Curse you and your whole lineage. You will be slaves to your brothers and brothers lineage.“

My guy, It was literally an accident! He literally could not have known you were naked and passed out!

I have to add that in the Genesis A it is explained that Ham laughed about his dad being naked, which adds a whole other vontext. A context that apparently was not necessary to provide in your regular old bible…. wtf

By the way! BBC Merlin, in its ongoing quest to achieve ren faire levels of historical accuracy, used Actual Old English as the magic spell language. They got a professor to do a lot of the translations, though they didn't spend much effort on the pronunciation.

There are two ways that this is very funny if you watch the show while knowing OE. One is that usually when they do the "wave your hands to smash your enemies around" type spells they're literally saying very simple stuff like "jump back" and "fall." The other is that whenever they have a long incantation to read, they say vaguely related stuff for a sentence or so and then just transition into reciting Beowulf.

God: „Everything cool again? Good let‘s get on with this.“
