Sometimes humans are just the best! A very good (and brave) Samaritan brought this eastern diamondback rattlesnake into the hospital after it was hit by a car. Look at this beautiful angry serpent!
That head wound looked pretty concerning so this baby went for a CT scan to assess the damage to its skull and soft tissue.
It might seem crazy that this wild snake could survive a tire to the head, but rattlesnakes are incredibly tough critters. Their heads are so muscular that when they’re struck by a car they can often survive with minimal damage to the bony structures of the head. In this case, the trauma from the tire forced those impressive facial muscles through the skin without breaking any cranial bones. Fortunately, an incredibly skilled exotics veterinarian was able to surgically repair the damage. Here it is after surgery!
This baby did great after the procedure and recovered beautifully. After several weeks in a wildlife rehabilitation facility, this rattlesnake was well enough to be released into the wild. You gotta love a happy ending! I know venomous snakes can get a bad rap, but just because they’re a little scary doesn’t mean they don’t deserve our love and respect.

Hey just a heads-up for anyone who, like me, woke to the news of Biden’s win and promptly burst into tears and is spiraling or feeling depressed instead of ecstatic, even though you wanted this result?
You’re okay. We have been through 4 years of hell, and this year in particular has been awful. Your emotions are all over the place because there’s part of you that has relaxed with relief that 45′s out, and that’s okay.
We’re okay. Take this weekend to give yourself some aftercare. Soft clothes, warm baths, comfort food. Hydrate and get plenty of rest. Get a hug if you can. Be kind to yourself.
The work’s not done, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong to take a weekend to rest.
There’s a post somewhere, which I am too tired to find rn, about how long-term trauma gets buried inside like a fire burning down to embers in a room with no air. When a good thing happens, it’s like firefighters opening a door into that room: all that heat flares up suddenly, from a place you thought was safe. You’re not crazy, and this will pass, but you have to take time to put out the fire
^THIS!!!!!!!
THANK YOU
I am obviously happy Biden is in but I feel so depressed rn!! Like i shouldn’t be I should be excited but this has just been a week and idk how to handle all the emotions that have happened!!
I’m glad I’m not alone in this. I feel like I’m experiencing every possible emotion simultaneously.
Eu me lembraria do menor detalhe que fosse para se lembrar daquilo que já se passou, é uma das consequências de se pensar demais pelo que já virou história
