there's a reason why pain demands to be felt, because it hurts. when someone feels so bad about themselves that they think they deserve it, they deserve to feel horrible because they think they are worse than the wounds oozing blood from their veins. they think the oxygen they're breathing is more toxic than any poison they would find in their fathers garage. once they start thinking these terrible things, you know you've lost them and there's no way of getting them out of that spiral of self hate because all they want is to be 6 foot under. some don't have it in them to do so, and end up driving themselves into insanity.
