Hello. Since I've seen people submit finished wheels, I thought I'd submit a wheel I came up with. In this case, it's a wheel to tell you something that you can't do for a week.
https://wheelofnames.com/kch-gkt
this is a really really cool idea! Thanks!!!
You can't do this for a week!
How bad is this for you?
Its great! I can live with this
I already don't do this
It'll be annoying but I'll be fine
VERY BAD.

thanks inkarchivist for the submission!!
as white westerners we looooove to consume and repost beautiful pictures of indigenous clothing and art without any sort of identifying information and while i dont think its meant intentionally as exploitative most of the time i try to add contextual information whenever possible, not least because the people in the photos actually deserve credit for what theyre wearing and their personal style like anyone else who dresses themselves. i also think consuming these images unsourced and uncredited and without context contributes to the racist and hegemonic erasure of differences between extremely disparate peoples, you get a lot of western referents to "african tribal art" and shit like that and it's nonsense. the continent is huge, the indigenous peoples are incredible varied (with more genetic variance than people outside of africa actually) and their individual styles reflect not only their individual lifeways (pastoral, agricutural, nomadic, urban, whatever) but their own personal aesthetics within the frameworks of their cultural mores. i think consuming these images without identification of even which ethnic group they belong to erases their individuality and personhood. so yeah i do think northerners should know the difference between the Dinka and the Maasai and the Wodaabe and the Hausa and the Himba et al
It really is extremely funny how the Mighty Nein experienced nominative determinism for their fighting style. Two of them have evasion and maxed out dexterity. Two of them halve fire damage. Three of them are unaffected by difficult terrain. Two add +5 or +6 to literally all saving throws. Two of them have counterspell. The closest they have to a blaster caster is one of the two clerics. Their entire style is "I didn't fail that, you can't hit me, you can't move, I don't have to save against this in the first place, and even if you're immune to stun you're not immune to swords."
A comic about a dream I had about a snake
headcanons about Bren Brenatto
he has great hair and he loves lying
in terms of appearance he looks like Veth cloned herself. Dark hair, dark skin, a lil' chunky. Yeza's genetics did not participate in this kid.
except the kid has atrocious eye-sight and he desperately needs glasses that he refuses to wear because he feels they make him look like a dork. So he has Yeza's terrible eyesight.
Yeza actually feels really bad because he feels like he doesn't have much in common with his second son, but Luc points out to him that actually, he and Bren are a lot more alike than he thinks: Luc and Veth are chaos gremlins, but Yeza and Bren are the calm and collected ones who stay focused even with chaos going on all around them.
(despite this, Bren is still definitely Veth's son)
He is a wizard prodigy--especially when it comes to dunamancy. Caleb theorizes that this is because of his exposure to dunamancy in the womb speeding up his birth giving him a special connection to dunamantic energy, while Essek disagrees; he thinks that Bren is just naturally talented at said magic. Regardless, the kid is good at dunamancy.
speaking of Essek: Essek does not give one single shit about this kid until the kid is like, 6; the Mighty Nein are all gathered for someone's birthday, and all the other kids are out playing and causing a ruckus, and Bren figures out how to do Essek's floating trick all on his own. Then Essek starts to care about this lil' halfling.
after that Bren-Bren starts spending a lot more weekends at his favorite Uncles' house.
time spent at the wizards' house is enrichment for all wizards; the uncles' spend time creating traps and puzzles and magical situations for the little one to get out of, and the little one spends time getting out of said traps/puzzles/situations. Like a pumpkin in a tiger cage: everyone leaves a little better than they started.
by the time Bren is 11 he hates being called Bren-Bren. His mom and Caleb still call him that because sometimes that is just what parents do
(Yeza is respectful and calls him Bren. Essek has never called him anything but "Bren Brenatto" in the exact same tone of voice he says "Caleb Widogast". Luc exclusively calls him Bren-Bren because he's his big brother.)
When Bren enrolls at Soltryce and starts studying to become a full-time wizard, and is naturally Charming and Good at People while also being Good at Magic, and, because he's Veth's son, reasonable good at thief things, Caleb has a panic attack as he realizes he's accidentally made the Perfect Volstrucker. He has to spend a week on Astrid's couch after that.
When Bren is 17, he (17, the age when all good decisions is made) (loves lying) (has excellent hair) (Veth's son) gets the truly excellent idea to go to the Kryn Dynasty and tell them: "What's up? I'm Essek Thelyss's consecuted soul. You can stop hunting me now! I died 17 years ago in the Empire. Anyway I want to learn more dunamancy!" which certainly won't have any consequences for anyone ever.
This is not a particularly original thought (I've probably made this exact post before myself) but one of the bleaker vast cultural gulfs out there is and likely shall remain the one between 'material children can understand and engage with' and 'material guardians and gatekeepers are comfortable thinking about their children engaging with'.
The beautiful but brief period where video stores just threw every animated movie in the same section and vast numbers of parents just assumed all cartoons were for kids was a little golden age in this regard. We need to come up with a new way to trick middle class helicopter parents into letting their 7-year-olds watch Watership Down again.
I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.
It's not about cancelling a problematic writer. It's about literally trying to save lives by denying her as much money and power as possible.
She's an extremist, and what she's pushing is nothing short of extremism, but this horrid little island we call home doesn't take that very seriously when it's coming from a rich white woman
what im learning from my years of being one of the annoying woke black people on here is that a Lot of white and nonblack people really do not understand what racism is and what it has done to African Americans. like when we learn abt it in schools they dont really tell you abt the mass rape and genocide and torture of Africans by white slave owners, they dont talk abt the murder of babies and the cannibalism either. its all in The Past so we should just get over it, lol. and then when nonamerican's colonial past gets brought up they start throwing tantrums too, because antiblackness is a global thing, many countries have exploited Africa and its people. this isnt unique to one nation. its so funny how all these Smart Communists are so ignorant abt racism in america and globally, and then when black leftist/progressive tumblr users try to say anything abt their real actual Lived Experiences as Black people its met with dismissal and hatred and condescension and Um, Actually, im not from america, can you talk to me like im 5 about racism please :) and if youre anything but Nice they will call you a slur
really tired of seeing the idea that women & girls are less likely to be diagnosed with autism because it "presents differently" so widely accepted even in progressive spaces
it is also widely accepted that women get raises less often because they don't ask as much as men. this is objectively not true.
it is also widely accepted that women are more talkative than men. this is objectively not true.
it is also widely accepted that women are taken less seriously when speaking because their speech patterns are associated with a "lack of confidence". this is objectively not true. [1][2][3]
every time we talk about gender discrimination, people look for an explanation that starts with women's behavior.
and every fucking time, actual research shows that across the board, women actually don't behave that differently from men.
women aren't diagnosed less often with autism due to "presenting differently". it's gendered medical neglect, and weaponized diagnoses disproportionately applied to women (e.g. BPD, HPD, bipolar, etc.)
"i feel besquintled", said no one ever. because that's not a word.
okay nevermind it IS a word now and this is exactly what it means.
