hear that the new season of ackley bridge is airing, not watched it, hope everyone who is the best but just wanted to hop on here to say a sort of goodbye by saying this was one lf the most racist fandoms i ever had the pleasure to be a part of. hot takes like 'white nationalism is bad' and 'the majority of the characters of colour should exist outside of their relationships to white people' got quite some push back, some of you lot were insane and knowing that i ever bothered to argue that shit has made me a worse person, xoxo gossip girl

this post is for me and no one else.

is anyone else a big fan of the pulp song disco 2000? just me? thats cool.

anyway its a good song and it screams missy and nas so like imagine on the day before nas leaves for oxford or something they two of them swear that no matter what happens in the next few years they will meet up in the year 2030.

skip to 2030 and over the years they did grow apart and nas went to oxford got a degree and a job that pays well but she hates and missy got married and has a kid (missy is deborah in this au).

now the date they picked to meet up is approaching and both of their lives are going to shit, nas’ job is super awful and while missy thought having the baby would be great, it exposed cracks in her marriage and so while over the years neither of them had really taken the pledge seriously and had no intention of going when they get the notification (they did it through google so it would carry over several new phones) they both decide to go on a whim.

the day arrives, and they’re awkward at first, small talk about what each of them have been doing, obligatory baby pictures, its all a bit stiff but then something happens, an old inside joke pops up, a song comes on that they used to love, they see two girls that look like their younger selves and all their walls break down and they’re missyandnas again.

unfortunately all good things must come to and end and they part ways but they realise that that couple of hours with each other is the happiest they’e been for ages, but they’re different people now and their lives are opposites they can’t just go back to the way things were right?

Mandy’s visit to school doesn’t go well when she discovers a rumour going around that Cory is the father of her baby, and Nas is horrified when Chloe outs her at a school fundraiser

So now Cory has lost Nav, Riz AND Jordan. He's isolated and an adult woman in a position of power over him is taking advantage.

I hate this storyline.

me. before series 3: omg maybe nas and missy will be canon at the end of it all! their friendship is so cute and it would be so nice to see something more :) they’re so close already though so it’s fine if nothing happens

Cory knew what he was doing that night, Cory wanted to sleep with Naveed from the start. You don’t lie seductively on the bed with your shirt off, with bedroom eye and a soft seductive voice for a simple friendly chat as just friends.

But I think he got scared and it got real, Cory is used to being sexual with most of his encounters, of experiencing many and not settling down with one. On it being real and genuine. And like he said in that scene, Naveed was the first person to be real and who truly cares about who Cory is underneath all the bluster.

Cory loves Naveed and he can’t bear to think of not having Naveed in his life. Cory is used to having one offs and it not mean anything of not taking it passed that. Of the other party understanding that for the most part and them being on decent terms after their mingling of their bodies. But Naveed wasn’t that, he wanted something more that Cory wouldn’t or couldn’t give. I don’t think Cory really knows what he wants or what he needs.

He’s just a mess up teenage boy whose got a lot on and I don’t think he really knows or wants to process all of this. So he put it all on the back burner and kept Naveed as a friend first and foremost. Because least as friends, Cory gets to keep Naveed in his life.
