Coming back from the kitchens, Qhuinn passed a room that she’d thought was empty, hearing a thin voice coming from it. “Uh…hi?” She murmured, tilting her head at the young blonde human inside. “Who are you?”
Abigail, normally breezy, feisty and friendly, couldn't meet the woman's gaze. She was worried she'd throw her in the cells or something, despite being claimed, "Ah... Ah'm Abi...Abigail Jaxon...Do yah mind if Ah ask who yah are, ma'am?"
Needing some time alone and away from Richard and anything to do with him, such as his suite, Willow ventured off to another manor as soon as she could get out of his sight. She wasn’t even sure which one she was in, just began checking doors and slipped into the first one that was unlocked and seemed empty. Empty until she heard the voice and jumped a little. “H-Hello?” she called back.
The other girl, Willow, she seemed spooked by her, "Ah'm sorry...Ah didn' mean tah frighten yah, sugar..." she explained, walking forward a little. She held herself together as if she might break, her blue eyes trembled just a little, "Wha' are yah doin' here?"
"Hello?" she asked frailly from her little home she'd made in an unused room of the manor. Abi had finally accepted the knowledge that her parents were dead but she still didn't feel right emotionally.
"Oh, I do?" Willow didn’t look closely enough to know the woman was human, but was glad to hear she didn’t sound upset with her. "It’s fine, miss. Thank you."
"Yah do." she repeated. She leant against the bars and murmured, "Uh, before Ah go...do yah fancy any food? I felt selfish as Ah was eatin'..."
"For now I am quite pleased with it. It’s nice. There are more slaves than I thought I would see. How lovely."
"Oh yes, quite a lot o' slaves who would jus' love a rental, miss." she smiled.
"Of course, sweetheart. I pay well, if you’d like more details then please come in and we can talk about it in my office."
"Ah'd get paid? Mah oh mah, tha's somethan' Ah couldn't refuse. Shall we then?" she asked, stepping forward and into the shop.
"They are." Calm resignation spread through her limbs as she looked at her. "Dead, six feet under and gone ta dust. Ah’m sorreh tha’ yeh ha’ ta know tha’ hard way.."
"No!" the blonde contested, breathless due to panic, "Bex, Ah'm gonna leave here an' when yah feel like tellin' me the truth Ah'll be waitin'."
"Please, drop that attitude."
Abi blinked, "Ah wondered wha' yah thought o' the place, miss..."
"W-What?" she looked over at the visitor tiredly. "I just got to sleep, and I know you don’t care, but I’m sort of sure it’s been days since the last time. Can it wait?” It all came out mumbled.
"Yah sound jus' like me when Ah've bin' disturbed." she chuckled a little, "Sorry, Ah'll leave yah be."
"So this is Scarlet Manor."
"Yes, ma'am. Waddaya think?"
"Oh, I see you are checking out the job notice. Are you looking for a job yourself?"
"A job would be fantastic, Ah need somethan tah distract me."
"This ain’t happenin’…Babe.." Bex stepped in closer. "Them rogues came back, an’ it turns..turns out.." She was having trouble saying those words. "Yeh’ve gotta trust meh Abi, ah’m no monster.."
"Rogues?" she breathed, so confused, so fragile. "Bex... Ah don' know 'bout no rogues...Ah... Ah've never even flat out asked yah wha' yah are an' yah've no' told me straight either." She wanted her to tell her everything, she'd left that to her but it just hadn't come about, Abi knew she was a wolf of course but she just didn't ask. Her jaw was tight, tears sprang to her eyes, "Mah parents...are not dead."
"Yer parents were killed by rogue wolves!" Bex didn’t mean to scream, but she couldn’t keep a lid on her own emotions right then. Sitting on the bed, she began to cry. "Ah’m so sorreh.."
Abi's response wasn't quick but it was certain, "No. They were not. Tha's not..." she backed up a little, walking into a chest of drawers and stumbling.
"Ah heard. Mo’ like got told off by Xander." Bex held her tight, and the fight left her and she broke down. "Ah’m so sorreh. There was nothin’ ah could fer them.." She stepped away, unable to look at her in the eyes.
"Told off? Really? I-" Abi could feel her break down, she'd already been so tense. She watched the brunette step back with frightened eyes, "Bex..." she couldn't wrap her head around anything bad happening to someone she knew, "Why are yah sayin' sorry?" She took her girlfriend's arm and tried to get her to look at her, "Bex, yah need tah tell me wha's goin' on."
"Is there anyone who can tell me if Ah'm still claimed?"
"Tha’s good, then. If they ‘ave, count yer blessin’s, right?" she glanced around a bit, "Maybe jus’ cause ya don’ cause trouble. I dunno, love."
"Tha's true." she nodded, knowing she needed to be stronger about this. "Thanks fer givin' me some hope at least, sugar."
"Is there anyone who can tell me if Ah'm still claimed?"
"I’m sure there is, but it isn’t me. Sorry."
"Ah appreciate yah bein' here anyway, yer a nice distraction, darlin'."
