My name is Calli and I am currently working on my PhD in Criminology & Criminal Justice. I'm passionate about a variety of justice issues but the main one is human trafficking. I started this blog as an assignment for a study abroad photojournalism class in SE Asia (Singapore, Cambodia & Indonesia to be exact) back in 2010 and have kept it going since then. I'll cover a variety of topics and issues that directly impact our nation and world in both positive and negative ways. The main focus of my blog is to raise awareness about issues you might not see in the news everyday that I believe are important to know about such as; human trafficking, incarceration, genocide, child abuse, and other criminal justice issues.

Polaris Project Hotline for Trafficking victims/information

Victims [of human trafficking] can text “HELP” or “INFO” to the number 233733 (BeFree), where they are forwarded to Polaris’s hotline staff, who then respond from their computers through a messaging service called Chatter. Polaris has operated a voice hotline, at 1-888-373-7888, for a few years.
