I live in complete poverty and disability. Trying to make art to sell as prints as I am not getting commissions the way I used to. I am disabled and diabetic, immunocompromised from recent surgery, and I live in a traditional filipino house partially destroyed by storms and termites. I work 3 jobs, but they are all very unstable. Please please please, if you've ever derived joy from my art or insight from my posts or book recs, if you could pick up a print, send a tip, or subscribe to my patreon where I have 400+ exclusive drawings / early access, it would help keep me alive, in the most literal sense. I have been given a second chance at life, and I would like to keep living. Thank you so much

Many new art on my patreon. Running out of thyroid medicine. If anyone could please help out. Would appreciate it forever
my latest drawing, a procession for the wayfinder, is now up on my inprnt. Please consider helping me out!

Fell off updating here, been reading a few other books too. But my silly read at work and usually before bed recently has been this webnovel. Roughly translated it's "Got dropped in a ghost story, still gotta work, huh" .
Very fun, about a typical office worker who gets dropped into an SCP like world. And now works in a company in that world dealing with SCP horrors. But he's actually read the whole SCP wiki so knows a lot despite being a self described coward.
Hopeful it gets an official translation because right now it does not.
american leftists seem extremely focused on anti imperialism (good) but rarely- if at all- discuss decolonization in their own fucking country, despite acknowledging that it is a settler colonial state.
im serious about this though. as an urban indian, i definitely cant speak on this as much as a rez indian could. but i know from talking to rez friends i have and from what the american indian movement has screamed for over the years that we need land we can grow on, we need clean water, we need to allow the wildlife that once lived in this land to live here again (meaning you need to listen to us before building those high speed rails you all get so hard over).
you cant drool over the zapatistas while ignoring people in your own country who have a similar goal
silly me I never provided things to read on the topic of decolonization! I'd personally suggest the following as "beginner level" essential reading to understand decolonization:
Discourse on Colonialism (Aimé Césaire) - this is more a focus on colonization, but I feel it's a necessary read in my opinion as in order to understand decolonization I believe it's important to first understand colonization.
Wretched of the Earth (Franz Fanon)
Decolonization is Not a Metaphor (Tuck, Yang)
also an "easy to process" read, to understand landback specifically here in Turtle Island, I'd suggest reading The Red Deal (there is a pdf, I don't mean the article with the same title)
Discourse on Colonialism (PDF, ebook, mobi)
The Wretched of the Earth (PDF, ebook)
Decolonization is Not a Metaphor (PDF)
The Red Deal (PDFs of Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)
-from White trash Warlock by David R. Slayton
The book I'm reading isn't real lmfao
I really loved this!! Metalhead boy surprisingly such a lovely, compassionate portrayal of nonverbalism, and.. dare I say. Autism.
I’m done playing around, read this shit. Everyone who follows me
louisa may alcott, little women.
Started reading Rejection by Tony Tulathimute.
Instead of chapters it's a bunch of short stories that I believe are linked together and the first one (titled "The Feminist") has been Destroying me. It's about a guy who grows up around so many women and "respecting" women, loudly advocating for them etc. But more because it is socially advantageous to do so than because he actually has an indepth understanding of feminism at it's core. Untimely it's still viewed as transactional and he slowly grows angrier and angrier at the world, society and of course, women, because he isn't getting what he wants (sex and maybe a relationship and someone to take care of him of course). This hurt to read in a way because it was so incredibly specific. It's a story, it's an exaggeration but it gets so incredibly right so many interactions I've had with men especially as someone who is queer and gender non-conforming.
I think it also raises a good point that at a societal level I also don't have an immediate fix for this. This is a spiral I have Seen people go down! But getting them to understand that on a basic level you are failing to fully view other people as people and instead stuck on what they Owe you because you deserve it (even though you excuse it as Not That with a lot of therapy language). It's a real problem because trying to shake people and be like it's not a transaction you have to be genuine and you have to Learn to be genuine. Is not a thing people listen to.
Anyway
Im enjoying it so far but a little scared to see where it goes.
Started reading
I finished this it was brutal but highly recommended. Immensely unsettling and full of grief and flawed characters.
Also big fan of the cover and the choice of G R E E N
Big fan.
