i can’t stand people policing their daughters’ sexuality. stop pretending that women are not or should not be sexual beings. the whole, “what you do to my daughter, i’ll do to you” thing is so fucked up. it completely ignores the concept of consent. how about instead of shaming young women for their sexuality and threatening young men for theirs, you teach them about consent?

fuck the virgin/whore dichotomy. it teaches women that it’s more important to be “pure” than it is to be safe. and by pretending that women must always be “pure,” it tells men that their sexuality is innately predatory. so on top of all the other bullshit, it perpetuates rape culture.

all this because people are too freaked out to face the fact that women can be sexual beings. jesus fucking christ.
