After over a year existing in my head, and 6 months of planning, Rise of the teenage mutant ninja inkling is officially becoming a fan comic :D!
The rise and the splatoon fandoms are not one to overlap, nor atleast from what I’ve seen, so you might have no clue what either media’s I am squashing together are, so let me explain;
First off! Rise of the TMNT, where the majority of the story will be taking place, is a variant of the teenage mutant ninja turtles, only with a magical twist; the four brothers uncover that their new York is far more magical than they first believed, with an underground city filled with Yokai, mutants, and mysteries. The tv show follows their every day shenanigans and missions to become heroes, unintentionally uncovering that were made for something far greater than they believed.
Splatoon is a video game set in the far future of our own earth; with humans wiped out by war, ceplopods and other marine life walk out of the seas, combining with the reminents of human dna to become the next dominant species. In Splatoon, you play as a octoling or an Inkling, and explore the various cities of Inkadia, partaking in the favourite sport of the inkfish - turf war!
Of the two medias, I recommend looking into Rise the most, as much of the story is focused on that universe,. However, for both, I will try and explain events and characters in story to help those unassociated with one of the two.
Posting schedule, I haven’t quite decided, and I’ll take breaks as I need them, but, as of now, I hope to be able to post two pages every two or so weeks. A master post on my tumblr will be made soon as well for ease of reading, and also to see my other rottmni related artworks. I’m super excited to start this new journey. wish me luck!
