My first car was named Carl. He was my safe place and a very good boy. I’m trans, nearly homeless, and stuck in a car centric town. No car means no work, no college, little groceries. Carl gave out, and I found a good Civic for $2,500 and DMV fees. It’s the only shot I’ve got right now. I need safety again. I need freedom. I just want something to go right.
