My boyfriend Andy has been missing for 1.5 weeks now, and we have reason to believe that he may have traveled to the Alberta area (he visited there in 2009, spent time with Willie Littlechild, Rick, and others). My best friend and boyfriend Andreas/Andy Robbins is missing. He has been suffering from depression and on Monday night he wrote in a note addressed to his friends that he planned to end his life by jumping off the George Washington Bridge. I found in shortly after he left it (after he texted me saying goodbye and that he loved me). Police canvassed the bridge for Andreas, but didn't find him. Also, no suspicious activity was reported Monday night and Andreas doesn't appear on any security tape. He left his cell phone and ATM car in the apartment, but has his passport (his only ID along with a learner's permit), probably his credit card (which has no activity yet), and maybe some cash.
At this point a lot of things could have happened. He could have hurt himself. He could have just needed to disappear, and could have easily taken a bus to D.C., Boston, Philly, ect. We just don't know, and so we're doing everything we can to find him: sharing his missing persons flyer, partnering with his family to call hospitals, following up on tips, and staying on top of law enforcement.

PLEASE PLEASE spread this info as widely as possible!!! In his suicide note, Andreas said he wanted his family and friends to honor his memory by educating people about depression and suicide. I want him to be able to do this himself. Andreas is a truly gorgeous soul and has so many wonderful people who care about him and want to know he is safe.
The Ferguson protest in Seattle is being run by a hijactivist group. It’s not like the other peaceful protestors. These are opportunists using the murder of Mike Brown to break shit, basically. They’re the people who do this every May Day with little regard for people actually organizing protests that day.
Five-year-old Malachi Wilson was all set to start kindergarten at F.J. Young Elementary in Seminole, Texas, but on Monday he was told to cut his hair and was sent home. His mother, April Wilson, contacted the Navajo Nation; the American Indian Movement also put pressure on the district to reverse its decision against the child. Only after she provided documentation of her son’s Native-ness through Malachi’s Certificate of Indian Blood did the Seminole Independent School District change its mind. The district’s rather lengthy student dress code stipulates more than a dozen rules when it comes to hair. Among them, Mohawks are prohibited. (Mohawks are called that for the way that some actual Mohawk people wear their hair.) Dreadlocks are also prohibited. The handbook says exceptions are made on “certain recognized religious or spiritual beliefs,” but students “must receive prior approval by the campus administrator.” The district changed its mind about Wilson’s hair—but he nevertheless missed his first day of school. The school district is ostensibly named for the Seminole people. The district’s schools use various Native mascots, and refer to their students as “Indians and Maidens.”

Pennsylvania Judge Sentenced For 28 Years For Selling Kids to the Prison System
Mark Ciavarella Jr, a 61-year old former judge in Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison for literally selling young juveniles for cash. He was convicted of accepting money in exchange for incarcerating thousands of adults and children into a prison facility owned by a developer who was paying him under the table. The kickbacks amounted to more than $1 million.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has overturned some 4,000 convictions issued by him between 2003 and 2008, claiming he violated the constitutional rights of the juveniles – including the right to legal counsel and the right to intelligently enter a plea. Some of the juveniles he sentenced were as young as 10-years old.
Ciavarella was convicted of 12 counts, including racketeering, money laundering, mail fraud and tax evasion. He was also ordered to repay $1.2 million in restitution.
His “kids for cash” program has revealed that corruption is indeed within the prison system, mostly driven by the growth in private prisons seeking profits by any means necessary.

A French MP was fined 3,000 euros on Thursday for a racist outburst in which he said “maybe Hitler hadn’t killed enough gypsies” during the Second World War.
Gilles Bourdouleix, a centre-right MP for the Maine-Loire department in western France, was touring a traveller camp where hundreds of caravans were parked illegally when he ranted in front of a reporter, who he later called “a little sh*t” for publishing his words.
Prosecutors had asked for Bourdouleix, who did not attend the Angers court for the ruling, to be given a six-month prison sentence and a 5,000 euro fine for the French crime of praising historic crimes against humanity.
“His behaviour was completely unacceptable,” prosecutor Yves Gambert told the court. “His words were an assault on our values and an incitement to racial hatred.”
The outburst, which Bourdouleix claimed he had “merely muttered through his teeth”, caused a storm of controversy when reported by regional daily Ouest France in July 2013.
He initially denied ever having said the words – until Ouest France published the recording from its reporter’s dictaphone.
The French Human Rights League, two anti-racism organisations and two holocaust memorial groups will be suing Bourdouleix through civil courts.
