lol I am in such a stressed-out blind rage today from insurance bullshit that I wrote up a glossary of health insurance terms (things like deductibles, premiums, and copays) because all the free guides online are unnecessarily complicated and the only way you can squeeze a dime out of these bullshit companies is to understand their overly-complicated policies. give em hell
Saw this on Facebook. Yes, I still use Facebook.
"yeah don't worry tho I'm doing fine"
Can we take a moment to appreciate that the transmitter that cracks access codes in the 2002 Resident Evil movie is clearly a glucose meter?
made a t1d bingo for all my fellow diabetics out there! type 1 is a pain in the pancre-ass but we’re all in this together. feel free to reblog with your marked up cards :)
Happy belated national diabetes day
me, desperately trying to get my blood sugar levels back to normal, while crying: AND STAY THERE
The rich are getting more rich tho
when insulin was first created, the inventors sold the patent for one dollar, as they knew that it could save so many lives and just wanted companies to begin making it so it could be provived to those in need. now it’s so expensive that people are dying, simply because companies want more money. this is so wrong and needs to be changed.
We literally pay to live if you are a diabetic in this country.
Based on a true story
Vibe checked by my own immune system
Me going to sleep knowing i way over corrected for a low and will undoubtedly wake up high i the morning
*non-diabetic voice* so like, what can you eat?
you know what i hate? like big time cant stand?? when someone says “hey insulin should be free or like way cheaper so i dont die after two days” and all people comment is “well then i think epipens should be free!!!1 and my birth control/condoms1!!!!!!!!” like yea epipens shouldnt be that expensive either but like it still doesnt really compare to insulin if you actually think about it (its more comparative to glucagon if anyhting tbh), and how does someone even begin to think that birth control is on the same level as insulin??? like im not even talking about for medical/hormonal needs like PCOS or anything im just talking straight up i-dont-wanna-get-pregnant-when-i-have-sex birth control. we’re talking about people DYING here kaitlynn or when people say “why should narcan be free but insulin cost so much?????” like omfg learn the basics of how emergency health care work pls thx
ALSO! people that make comments like “well im a nurse and my second cousin is a type 1 dm person and i work with someone thats diabetic so Obviously my opinion is worth more than the original tweeters!!!!!!1!!! because its like im speaking for 3 people aND im a health care worker!!!!!!!!!!1!! that means i had a whole three hour lecture on this condition when i was 20!!!!!!!! i have Knowledge!”
AND ANOTHER THING diabetes (yes even type 2) is Not Really Preventable and if your argument of why insulin shouldnt be free is “well im not paying for healthcare for people that asked for it” you can go burn in a fire ‘kay thanks!!
Diabetes info post wanted
Hey y'all someone I know just recently discovered they are diabetic and I saw a post somewhere about options in Canada but I cannot find it again, does anyone know what I'm talking about? They cannot afford this as it stands and I'm looking for resources.
