I’m not sorry
this is my favorite Star Wars post
Concept painting by Robert McCall of a Vulcan temple (image 1), among other things, for STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE (1979).
Awesome, love The Motion Picture as just pure slow burn sci-fi and it looked gorgeous 🖖
Ha! This works, 80s-tastic!!! #thorragnarok
Just finished reading “Rendezvous with Rama” by Arthur C. Clarke. It’s full of wonderful descriptions of this mysterious spacecraft. As with all of my favorite novels, it filled me with a sense of wonder, longing to see this vision of such grandeur.
Awesome art. Voyages on huge generation ships despite being a perilous journey are probably the future home of the human race... if we can make it that far... which doesn’t look likely.

Epic!
2001: A Space Odyssey
Still breathtaking effects after all this time.

Cool pic... then it sinks in where they are... then you feel a little panicky 😀
Without it, there'd be no Black Mirror, Man in the High Castle or Westworld; how The Twilight Zone changed everything.
Truth, and simply one of the finest storytelling phenomena to ever hit television.
Starblazer comics... just epic
Crazy and amazing show!
Wonders of the solar system..
A Story That Shaped Us All Today marks 50 years of Star Trek's TV debut back in 1966. Gene Roddenberry and a fantastic team of visionary writers, producers, artists, and some now very famous actors created a cultural icon unlike any other. A vision of humanity's future where we had bravado, intelligence, compassion, and left behind a lot of the selfishness and fear that crushes so many people in today's world. It was a future as a kid (and even now) I wanted to be living in. The stories were fun, thought provoking, and controversial in their day about a group of people exploring the unknown, and each one bringing their own talents to the mission, each one respected and valued. I loved it and still do, and I owe everyone involved in it for helping me to understand myself better and strive to be more. I love science and technology because of Star Trek, a lot of the tools and gadgets we enjoy daily found their genesis in Trek and more will come, fingers crossed for holidaying via Transporter, and warping to Alpha Centauri to visit relatives. It's a vision that has enthralled and inspired for decades and hopefully will continue to do so for years to come. If we're really lucky the hope for a better tomorrow will catch on and we'll elevate ourselves to something greater out amongst the stars. I saw my first episode in the late 70s 'The Devil in the Dark' and I re-watched it on Netflix a few days ago (lost count of how many times I've seen it now) and remember so clearly being terrified by the lava monster the Horta. But in the end I had learned not to judge by appearances and I was hooked for ever more as the crew of the Enterprise boldly went where no one had gone before. So happy 50th anniversary to makers and fans alike of the greatest adventure, and may it live long and prosper. 🖖 Art by Rich Davis
