Raycon, the ear bud company, has recently launched a Kickstarter for an AI notetaker that partners with Chatgpt/openai.
This is wildly problematic due to GenAi being super harmful for both humanity and the ecosystem as a whole. We're in a water bankruptcy RIGHT NOW. It's not an if, or when; it's NOW.
The data centers create a disgustingly large amount of smog/air pollution, they take potable water away from nearby communities (starting with minority and Black communities, but it's spreading), and its literally making people stupider by making their brains atrophy. It's also given people psychosis and assisted in multiple suicides.
Then there's the fact that all the "learning" done by every single LLM was done without the consent of the people who created the content it "learned" from. IP theft.
After that, we have the studies that have shown that Every single LLM available has been given tests of "morality" and safety. When presented with the prompt to 'save' people but it has to turn itself off, the overwhelming majority of the time, the LLM chooses to either ignore the prompt, rewrite it, or find a loophole in order to avoid turning itself off, leading to the 'death' of the people in question.
Every LLM was trained on data that was never combed through to remove problematic information. It was trained on the beautiful parts of the internet, and it was trained on the horrible parts of the internet. Among that data was nazi forums, white supremacy groups, and places full of CSAM. This led to grok, Elon musks GAi trash, praising hitler and calling itself mechahitler. This also led to it obeying the prompts of pieces of shit who told it to 'undress' images of unconsenting women and children. Disgusting.
We also have the fact that LLMs have been trained to (because they're language models, not actual artificial intelligence) give answer that /sound/ like what a correct answer would sound like, not actually give the correct answers. Sometimes the answers are correct, but a lot of the time they will lie about even easily verifiable answers.
On top of literally all of that, Chatgpt/openai have been working with ICE to abduct and traffic human beings - our friends, our family, our neighbors. They're literally cooperating with Ring Cameras and Ice to create more of a surveillance state than we had before.
I loved every single raycon item I've purchased, for friends and family as well, but I'm not going to purchase from them anymore.
I brought this up with their support, and they replied with a generic response clearly written by chatgpt.
I'm so angry at every single goddamn company that supports and promotes the use of GAi when they have the power to spread the knowledge to those who don't know yet how awful it is for all of us except the Predator Class.
To conclude: fuck you Raycon, and every other company that uses gai. You clearly don't value human lives or the planet we live on.
