It all started with a name…
I first heard of Tolkein decades ago starting with the Hobbit. Did not read the Hobbit much back then, but the name Sauron stood out while taking a quiz. Then, I read Lord of the Rings and while he (and the Nazgul) were not among the favorites(that was Legolas, Gimli and the ElvenKing), they were the most fascinating. Over time, Sauron ended up being the emergent favorite, especially with the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales.
Over even more time, I finally jumped into the fandom as more than just an observer.
Anyway, Sauron remains my favorite, my “precious” to this day.

The picture of Annatar from Rings of Power. I know people tend to hate this show, but I enjoyed it in spite of the flaws. I’m glad I gave it a chance.
