Different Types of Water and Their Magickal Uses

Creeks and streams:  Purification, harmony, cleansing

Dew:  General health, eyesight, beauty. Dew is said to be especially powerful if gathered at dawn on Beltane.

Fog and mists:  Creativity, balance, partnerships

Ice:  Transformations, balance, creativity

Pond or lake water:  Peace, contentment, relaxation, self-reflection.

Rain water:  Energy, protection, cleansing.

The first rain that falls in the month of May is considered sacred to

the Water Witch

River water:  Cleansing, moving forward, protection

Seawater:  Health, magickal power,

manifestation of goals. An old Welsh belief states that a spoonful of

sea-water a day will ensure a long and healthy life.

Snow:  Transformations, balance

Spring water:  Growth, holy water, cleansing, protection, prosperity

Swamp and waste water:  Banishing, binding

Waterfalls:  Power, energy, success

Well water:  Healing, wishes, intuition

Beaches:  Rituals, spells, fascinations, meditations

Harbors:  To promote abundance and prosperity; to serve as an aid in banishing things

Riverbanks:  To increase personal power

Protection Pennies

As a child I remember my grandmother always putting pennies above the doors and the window, I never questioned it, it was just something she did. I had totally forgotten about it until I moved to the US. I began doing readings at a small book store called Unicorn Books and Gifts. On my first day there I closed the door and was hit by a penny. I noticed another above the door. After speaking with the owner I learned that one of the other readers puts them there for protection, just like my grandmother.

I later questioned my grandmother about it. She told me that it is a “old gypsy charm”.She told me that it is ideal to use a horseshoe or nails, but pennies will give you a little extra “luck”.

What you will need

Pennies

Salt

Jar

Your intention

Place the salt and the pennies in a jar or any container that you have at hand.

Leave for a week. The salt will cleanse the pennies. It will remove any unwanted energy and give your pennies a protection boost.

Once cleansed, hold the jar of pennies and salt in your hand and set your intention. (To protect your thresholds)

I like to imagine the pennies surrounded in white light. White to me means protection but find whatever works for you.

Once you have set your intent place two pennies above your doors and windows. Place one at each end of the frame. I like to imagine a white protective light joining the two, creating a protective barrier. Only those with the “greatest of good” for your home will be able to cross it.

Once or twice a month replace the pennies with fresh ones. Place used pennies back into the salt to cleanse.

For a added protective boost I like to also draw a line with Dragons Blood between the pennies.

Social Anxiety Charm

A charm I made to help with my social anxiety. 

This can not replace medications, doctor care, or any other therapy. It will not cure you of anxiety. There is no magickal cure for mental illness. It is just a little witch charm to help with symptoms of social anxiety while in social situations. 

Crystals

Amethyst

Energy: receptive Planet: Jupiter, Neptune Element: water Anti-anxiety, spiritual, healing. Along with anxiety, amethyst dispels anger, sadness, fear, and grief, helping one come to terms with loss. I also added a clear wish bead from my Jar of Luck and a rose thorn for protection. I would have put in clear quartz as well (to amplify all the other crystal’s energies) but there was no more room.

The Spell

Light any candles. I used red, orange, and white.

Tell each crystal its purpose, adding them one by one into the bottle. 

Focus on the intent while holding the bottle.

Bless bottle and self with moon water.

Spells using orange peels

I have a surplus of orange peels right now and I was wondering if anyone has some out of the box ideas so I can use them up. Bonus if anyone can recommend gifting spells cause I would like to give my boyfriend some new witchy things.

they would be great for any sort of cleansing or cleaning stuff. They are also great for drawing in good luck and prosperity.

Make orange peel powder ( or skip the powder and have dried orange peel for extended shelf life)

Set oven to 200 spread orange peels out on a cookie sheet.

Put the cookie sheet in the oven. Leave them there till they’re crumble dry. Check often so moisture can get out. ( like every 30 minutes or so)

When dry grind into a powder…. Or just keep them whole.

I like to add them to black tea, bath sachets to help me fight off my anxiety/depression bouts, cleansing washes for me and my space, put them in candles wax, combine them with cinnamon clove and water and simmer to infuse my home with warm smells and banish negativity after roommate drama.
