before we go in to a season with lewis hamilton driving for ferrari, i’ve got smth i want to say about why i think he left merc and joined ferrari and im not sure how popular this is with other people (ive only spoken to 1 person about this).
i think lewis started to entertain talks with ferrari after singapore 2023. yes george had crashed and he was massively beating himself over it so the team had to “take care” of their driver who’s just crashed, however, there was barely, if any, of the mercedes team there to celebrate hamilton. he had worked so hard to get even a podium and his team wasn’t there to celebrate/support him. but who was there? ferrari.
and that’s genuinely why i feel lewis started to think about a move there. he wasn’t their driver but they still showed support. he didn’t want to be in a team where he wasn’t progressing, he wasn’t being listened to when he said things were wrong until he proved they were wrong and then merc went oh, yeah he’s right. he wasn’t supported by his own team. and we don’t know what was happening behind the scenes but it’s possible he hasn’t been support for a while.
he’s a driver but he’s also human and ferrari is a team that were/are very willing to support him. whether you belief it’s fake or not is up to you. but they will give him the support any driver requires (in public and in private) and they can support 2 very good drivers in tandem with each other.
i’m absolutely terrified for this season because i don’t want lewis to fail and for his dream to be shattered but i hope it is a good season for him.
This could be true but honestly if after so so so many years of Mercedes always being with him if THIS was a main reason ( I am actually sure it is not) then it actually is very sad because, you do know that team was behind you for so many years and suddenly in one race your teammate crashed out bad so the team could not be with you so it makes you think about moving? I am sure it is not that at all that because then it would be a lot not-good. He had a dream of driving a Ferrari since childhood. While he was with Mercedes and on a high he kept denying anything thrown his way but then Mercedes went on a downhill journey and yes there were problems too like we came across, the team not listening to Lewis' words on things and surely many other things. In 2023, in the most dominant Redbull season, the only other winner was a Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz. Then with Carlos Sainz Sr. taking in a partnership with Audi made the Carlos' move to Audi rumours come up. Everything made it easy for Lewis to make that decision, also knowing Ferrari with it's tradition and what not would never let go such a big opportunity, a big name and hopefully a big game. No team would be dumb enough to not show interest in Lewis Hamilton, be it for the game or the name.
So many reasons yes, a lot of fault on Mercedes' part too but also Lewis' personal gains to a lot too. People keep blaming Mercedes and I do see why, I did a lot too but what they never mention is how Lewis gains so much from this and how much in his favour it is to driver for the red team. The blame game is a little too strong and the personal gains not talked about enough, but honestly if Mercedes not showing their support in that particular podium is a reason, it would be shameful but again, wouldn't really hold it to him if he saw the downfall coming and wanted to move out to the one team who could probably win in the Redbull dominant times. Also this season will make things clear for whatever claims Mercedes had for Lewis, hoping they are wrong.
Also, to say Ferrari can support 2 very good drivers in tandem with each other... Uh... I don't know with this sport. It all looks so good from outside with such a huge fanbase and the passion of Tifosis but ohwell, but then again this Sir Lewis Hamilton we are talking about so he will find his way.
Lastly, as a Lewis fan I hope he does good but if it doesn't go well, I wouldn't blame him. He can have his own races ups and downs, yes, but well, it's Ferrari after all. He'll manage though, hopefully. Trust in him to make his own way because Ferrari---
And besides that, hopefully Mercedes get's their shit together because the way they also keep focusing on one. Even till 2023 it clearly was Lewis, even though differences were created on certain topics but it was a clear division and it is only because he is such a big figure in the sport and with Mercedes being the biggest support throughout. Hopefully George knows what he is in for, again with Kimi coming into the team, young and fresh.
i don’t think it was due to the lack of support for just one race. i mention that it may have been happening behind the scenes but obviously we can’t know that. however he kinda hinted towards maybe mercedes lack of support towards him with his comment about george outperforming for the rest of the year. i do believe the lack of performance from mercedes was a big factor in leaving but i also believe that the public lack of support (and possible behind the scenes lack of support) and the fact ferrari were the team to include him really solidified his decision to move ferrari specifically. he’s lewis hamilton, he could’ve moved anywhere but i think that’s what solidified it to ferrari (along with his dream + merc lack of performance) hope that makes sense :)

“Hm?”
“Luke.” Quinn hissed out, having been trying to get his brothers attention for the last 3 minutes.
“What? What do you want?” Luke grumbled being forced to drag his eyes away from her.
“Jesus christ, just go and talk to her man. Stop staring at her, it’s weird.”
“Quinn, I can’t. I don’t know what to say. I’m not Jack” the other boy let out, his eyes flitting to his brother who stood just behind Quinn.
“Lukey boy, just go.”
With some unhelpful words that Luke assumed was Jacks attempt at motivation, he looked back over to the girl who was currently browsing the aisles and said “Fuck it.”
He approached with confidence he had managed to pull out of thin air and prayed that carried over in to his voice when he approached her.
He reached out a hand to tap her shoulder and the girl let out a small gasp of surprise before turning to her left. Luke noticed a small flash of annoyance in the girls eyes and realised right there that he would happily get lost in those eyes forever if given the chance.
Confusion overtook the annoyance and before he could back out, she smiled. And Luke swore his heart soared and as he swallowed thickly, he willed himself to speak.
“Hi, I’m Luke. I was just wondering if I-“
“O-oh, I’m sorry, was I in your way? Did you need something from here?” She gestured vaguely to her front and took a step back from him, assuming he was asking her to move.
“Oof. That’s not good” Jack breathed out, arms leant over a clothes rail as the two older Hughes took in the scene of the girl stepping away from their little brother. Quinn let out a wince in agreement, wondering what Luke had managed to say if he was already making the girl back away.
Luke hadn’t even seen what she was looking at before he interrupted her and threw a quick glance at where she was gesturing before following up with “No, no sorry! I was- I just- Okay. I’m nervous but I’ll come out with it. You’re very pretty and I was wondering if I could get your number and if we could arrange a date. I completely get if you say no or like think I’m weird…or something.” Luke felt his confidence fade completely by the end of his rambling and was wiping his sweaty hands on his jeans and could already feel his cheeks heat up knowing there was no way she would say yes now.
Another smile graced the girls face and she let out a little chuckle, hand reaching out to soothe Luke’s bicep. “I would like to go on a date with you Luke so yes, you can have my number”
The boys eyes widened and he was silently thanking the universe for this. He quickly nodded and pulled out his phone to share his number with you. After the two of you exchanged numbers and you told Luke that you needed to get going but not before throwing him a wink and telling him you looked forward to your date. Glancing at what you had named yourself in his phone, he let his eyes drift over your name, letting out a puff of amusement as he saw the “🛒” emoji at the end of your name.
Luke let out a breath he hadn’t realised he was holding before turning on his heel to walk back to where his brothers stood. A smirk now placed firmly on his face as his brothers looked at him a shock, neither having said a word after the exchange they’d just witnessed. Jacks jaw hung open and Quinn just looked bewildered.
Jacks jaw snapped shut and let out an incredulous“How on earth do you not have any game at all and STILL manage to get a girl, a pretty girl nonetheless, to agree to a date with you?” Luke knew the chirping was coming and he only stuck his tongue out in response. Quinn, on the other hand, just whistled lowly and said “Wait till mom and dad hear about this.”
With that final comment, Luke ushered out a quick “Shut up.” and spun around to look through the rails of clothing, hellbent on ignoring the snickers coming from his older brothers.
don’t get me wrong, i love max. but i love max as a single driver. i don’t like his team because i don’t like the team principle, i respect the fact he treats max well (better than his own father some may say) but i don’t like him. i don’t like the second driver because i disagree with his ideas on women and loyalty to his wife. so if you wanna get pissy with me over the fact i don’t like checo and will actively post against them then go ahead but i do not care and if you’re going to support a misogynist cheater then i simply don’t want you here. sorry x
