Death walked in like a friend,
For I have known him all my life.
Him? you may ask.
I, says I
For would it not be a man to be so cruel,
To extinguish love and replace with grief?
Would it not be a man to spread such sorrow
And profit solely from it?
Yes, death is a man, and I must go to meet him.
