Ughhhh one of the reasons i love sylus is how he treats the mc as her own person, he encourages her independence and values her identity its so refreshing to see him like this as an independent girlie 😭😭

Exactly, 😭 he truly is the embodiment of consent and autonomy. Sylus always encourages her to follow her passions and do what she loves. He’s literally the perfect definition of healthy masculinity! Supportive, respectful, and grounded. He gives her space to grow, yet stays by her side, stepping in only when he feels she genuinely needs help. It’s that perfect balance of being protective without ever being controlling. That’s what makes him so special, a man who knows how to protect while still honoring her freedom.

I get nervous every time we get a glimpse into Sylus's past. The wedding card really put things in perspective, the only memories Sylus has of happiness and joy are with MC. The imagery of the bullets on the church floor speckled with his blood is so haunting. It reminds me that he's been through some actual dark, abusive stuff. Its going to be difficult to know what he was before he became the Sylus we know. We only know someone one who has a plan for everything, someone who could be shot in the chest and grin.

"Other times i think about what you must have gone through to act that way"- grassland romance.

But could we actually take seeing the Sylus of the past? Before he was the leader of Onychinus? someone who was vulnerable, who should have been protected, but instead was pushed to a point that he had to become something even bullets couldn't scratch.

Knowing about Sylus's past is coming face to face with everything we don't associate with him- to watch him when he was helpless and fearful, thrown in pitiful states of desperation and pain by the unjust world around him.

What gets me is how he doesn't want MC to know what he went through either. He thinks it would be too much for her, our independent, tough MC who kills wanders for a living and saw her childhood home and family blow up right before her eyes.

I also think more than just protecting MC from the details, it was so abusive he can't talk about it either. They weren't things you entirely heal from, its incidents that brand themselves on your soul and anyone who hears them is cursed to carry that burden. And he'd much rather be the only one who has to.

SYLUS BRAINROT BUT...

I love those soft and caring moments between Sylus and MC that were showed in today's main story update. Their relationship is both fun and wholesome. They support and protect each other while having a good time together. Teasing and playful nature of their interactions adds a bit of a spice into their love and friendship and I'm here for it!

The shooting scene was insane! Infold, we need a whole movie about the Zoion Hunt! Sylus being all masculine, protective, teasing and BADASS is exactly what I needed to see on a rainy Monday.

Also Sylus playing video games with Luke and Kieran? A big YES.

I need more of my beloved dragon, it's time to read some fics!
