Rye University— from a foundation of old, hewn stone rises a place built for the untouchable, the light-touched young gods descended to sin amidst mortals. To clipped grounds and ivy-covered buildings the offspring of the most affluent flock; the daughters of crooked politicians, the sons of old money. Some come boasting long lineage and the gilt of legacy, others to remain close to what they’ve always known; the companionship of the few like them, following the tugging of that silken thread that binds them together, further isolating them from the mundane.
You can’t help it, when that hot poker of desire prods at your heart— to be one of them, to be close to them, laughing so easily the stars beam with each peal. A phone lifts from your pocket and you capture them there, like that, dusted noses tipped high, draped over one another in the dark booth of a club’s corner. A grainy image that doesn’t quite showcase how they bring colour to a room’s film noire, but you try nonetheless: huddled beneath your duvet that night you submit it to a site long favourited, attached with a typed embellishment, truth cushioned in the satin of a lie, because they deserve it, don’t they? To have their secrets known to all, to be brought closer to the earth? To feel the crush of what weighs down the common?
AFFLUENCEHQs is a mature appless roleplay based on the students attending Rye University, a school intended for the youth of society’s wealthiest and most affluent, or the select few locals enrolled through scholarship. With secret societies encouraging nefarious activity, and anonymous blogs surfacing secrets, nothing is quite as it seems.
